Hive Hubs Can Grow Hive Economically, with Clear KPIs - Here is the Proof

in HiveHubGuate2 months ago

Hive shows that real-world adoption can occur through local participation and practical use cases. The recent Hive Hub in Guatemala demonstrates how small investments, along with clear KPIs and measurable results, can create genuine economic activity, draw in new users, and encourage the use of HBD in everyday transactions.

@buttcoins, @ecoinstant, @ecoinstante, @ninaeatshere, @jthomasewsky, and @starkerz organized a Hive Hub in Guatemala at Hotel Del Lago from late June to August 2025. It cost us:

  • Check-in incentives: 64 × $3.00 = $192
  • Hive debit cards: $250
  • 2 Point of Sale Terminals: $275 × 2 = 550
  • Partial coverage of flights for 2 people: $800 + $450 = $1,250
  • Total cost: $2,242 USD

Users onboarded at the Hive Hub in Guatemala

Checkinwith.xyz onboarding statistics

We onboarded 64 new people to Hive and trained them on how to spend and blog.

Once these users realized they could earn cashback for spending at the Hive Hub, many deposited money into Hive Debit cards and Hive accounts and started spending at the businesses registered there. In return, they used Distriator to get cashback.

Conclusions

This shows that for a small investment, Hive can fund Hive Hubs around the world. These Hubs can generate profit throughout the year (covering only 2.5 months of turnover) and can find ways to repay any funding invested, especially when the Hive Hub is an existing business that already shows profit or turnover.

We want to suggest more Hive Hubs worldwide as a sustainable method to promote Hive to real people in actual locations, demonstrating real use cases for the stable currency Hive has built, which is HBD.

These Hive Hubs can host regular workshops teaching people how to create content, earn the currency, engage with the ecosystem, and use HBD for shopping. From there, users can advance further, learning how to onboard local Hive businesses and expand the currency's reach within their communities beyond just the local Hive Hub.

We would like to propose that Hive establish at least 10–20 initial Hive Hubs in different places where Hive is already popular around the world.

Sort:

This would always be a novel idea and I have been a clear proponent. Having run a center that could beat be described as a Hive Hub, I see the huge impact it has had in my local City Aba, Nigeria. Such a hub is crucial in growing and sustaining a Hive ecosystem within its immediate environment and beyond. If Hive as a community champions the idea, it could lead to bigger sustainable growth of the blockchain

Yes, real places, real people, real economy. These kind of onboarding initiatives are essential to Hive and lead real world growth.

Great results for the first 2 months of this "experiment"! Even with such a small "budget," it gave some great results...

Along with Hive Hub Guatemala, I know only of The Kingdom, in Krakow, Poland, that does something similar, but in a bit different ways... There is definitely material to exchange experience and to make both projects better, showing an example for future hubs!

Excellent. May they continue to reap success.

Great success can really be achieved through businesses in grass root levels that foster local participation. I believe this would be a huge success to hive and spendhbd. I hope it extends to Nigeria where there's already mass adoption.
