Hello Everyone!

Long time no read! I guess I’ve been hustling so hard that I haven’t had time to paint, write, or do anything creative enough to share with you all. But guess what? The dry times are OVER. After taking some advice from Arnold Schwarzenegger about being “useful,” I realized—what am I already great at that I can share with you?

Well, the answer’s been right in front of me all along! At Sea Lilies Suites, I create cozy environments and memorable experiences by bringing together the simple things that make life more enjoyable. And now, I want to help you do the same!

So here’s the deal: I’m starting a brand-new weekly blog to help you create a cozy, indulgent, lazy—but also sexy—home life without breaking the bank, spending too much time, or putting in major effort. Because, let’s be honest, that’s what cool people do.

What’s in it for you? Each blog will be split into sections designed to satisfy a specific need or desire, whether you’re hungry for food, craving something to watch, or even hungry for love (whaaaat?). I GOT YOU. Let’s make life a little easier and a whole lot more enjoyable, one week at a time.

Back from the Summer Hustle? Here’s Your Fall Reset.

I assume most of you are back from your summer holidays. Some of you are working from home, some are back in the office, but one thing applies to everyone: You are all so f--- exhausted. Too many people, too much talk, and definitely too much toxic positivity about all the things you’re going to accomplish in the final quarter of the year. I mean, seriously, what are the chances of crushing it now after nine God damn months of… you know, nothing?

So, shut them all up kindly, and prepare for the first weekend of fall. It’s not cold enough for hot chocolate, nor hot enough for a frozen margarita. What you really need? Do I need to say it? Do I?

Fine, I’ll say it anyway: A Dry Rosé. Da?

Rosé Picks by Country

Here are a few Rosé suggestions by country of origin that are widely available across Europe, the UK, and the USA:

  1. Greek Wine: Idylle d'Achinos Rosé 2023
o A blend of Agiorgitiko and Grenache, this rosé is known for its pale, Provencal-style color and its delicate balance of flavors. Expect bright red fruit notes like strawberries and raspberries, with hints of citrus and floral undertones. It’s dry, crisp, and refreshing—perfect for late summer but with enough structure to carry you into early fall.

  2. Italian Wine: Fattoria Sardi Rosé
o From Tuscany, this organic dry rosé offers fresh citrusy notes, with hints of wildflowers and strawberries. It’s a beautiful way to transition into the cooler months without giving up that summer feeling.

  3. French Wine: Château d'Esclans Whispering Angel
o One of the most famous Provençal rosés, Whispering Angel is dry, elegant, and full of red berry fruit with a hint of herbs. It has a smooth texture and crisp acidity—perfect for warm weather, with just enough edge to suit fall evenings.

  4. Spanish Wine: Muga Rosado
o From Rioja, this rosé is made primarily from Garnacha (Grenache) and Tempranillo. It has bright citrus, peach, and red berry notes, with a dry, clean finish that makes it ideal for late summer evenings.

What to Eat with Your Rosé

Now that you’ve got your Rosé, let’s talk about what you’re going to eat with it. I’m not about to give you an overcomplicated gourmet recipe that’ll leave you spending the rest of the night washing pans. Nope, not me. So, what are you eating?

Cheese.

Too plain for you? Think again. September is a great month for fresh cheeses because late summer and early fall is when many cheeses made from spring and summer milk are at their best. Some cheeses to look out for during this time include:

Fresh Goat Cheese (Chèvre): Light, tangy, and perfect for warm weather. Fresh goat cheese is at its peak in early fall.
Brie and Camembert: These cheeses are often made in the spring, and after a few months of aging, they reach their creamy, delicious peak in September.
Pecorino: Young Pecorino, especially from summer sheep’s milk, is fresh and flavorful in September.
Gruyère and Comté: These cheeses, aged over summer, are rich in flavor by September, making them excellent options for pairing with wine.

Feeling like you need something more? You could make a salad, but that feels like too much work right now. I’d say get some grapes! Grapes add a juicy, crunchy texture to creamy or firm cheeses, making the pairing more dynamic. Their natural sweetness balances the saltiness and savory flavors of cheeses like feta, Pecorino, or Manchego. Or, go bold with my personal favorite: Greek raisins. They have this deep, caramel-like sweetness that pairs perfectly with the sharpness of the cheese.

Snack Game Strong: Breadsticks or Toast?

Naturally, you need to complement all of the above with some Italian breadsticks (grissini). They’re crunchy, light, and will make you feel awfully elegant and sophisticated while you devour them in front of your Friday night movie.

If grissini isn’t your style, cut a slice of crusty baguette, sourdough, or Italian ciabatta. Toast it lightly, soak it in extra virgin olive oil, and sprinkle with a bit of salt and oregano. Perfection.

Movie Night Outfit: What to Wear

Now that your snacks are sorted, it’s time to settle in and get comfy. September can be tricky, depending on where you are, but if you’re in the northern hemisphere, you’ll probably need:
Soft T-Shirt or Long-Sleeve Tee: If it’s still warm, go for a breathable, relaxed fit. If you’re a “sexy lady,” you can rock a tank top under a lightweight sweater or cardigan.
Comfortable Lounge Pants: Soft, stretchy lounge pants in jersey or cotton are ideal. They’ll keep you comfy and cozy, but won’t make you overheat.
Socks: Do I need to mention socks? I see you… already wearing them in bed while half-naked because it’s still too hot. But please, don’t wear your socks with Crocs or Havaianas. Not even in front of your dog.

What to Watch

Now that you’re set up with your snacks and outfit, what are you going to watch? Here are some movie options to match your mood:
New York-based rom-coms: When Harry Met Sally or You’ve Got Mail.
Boston-based movies: Good Will Hunting, The Departed, or The Town.
Action comedies with summer vibes: The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Red, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., or Spy.

If TV is more your thing, binge some lighthearted series like Gilmore Girls, Psych, Jane the Virgin, Brooklyn 99, or… Friends.

The Morning After

Great, you followed my advice and woke up crazy hungry (because no one can live on grissini and dry wine alone) and maybe a little hungover. What do you do?

You put on an all-jeans outfit, lace up your stylish trainers, and head to a cute bistro for a latte and a cinnamon roll. Save your calories for a late lunch. Why late lunch?

Because it’s not winter yet, people, and you better spend some time outdoors!

So, what are you still doing reading my post? Off you go!

Love, love,
M
