¿Se ha sentido alguna vez intrigado por algo? Quizás disfrutando de una película se da cuenta que en la trama ocultan algo y eso lo mantiene a usted a la expectativa. En este ejemplo no se ve la intriga de manera negativa. Sin embargo, hay otro tipo de intriga que debemos mirar con cuidado. Es aquella que trama una persona con la intención de dañar la reputación de otra logrando lastimarla. Y solo con el objetivo de obtener un beneficio para sí. En esta interesante trilogía mis amigos de Hive, les contaré una historia referente a este tema. Veamos cómo se desarrolla.

Have you ever felt intrigued by something? Perhaps while enjoying a movie you realize that something is hidden in the plot and that keeps you on the edge of your seat. In this example you don't see intrigue in a negative way. However, there is another type of intrigue that we should look at carefully. It is the one that a person plots with the intention of damaging the reputation of another person by succeeding in hurting him or her. And only with the objective of obtaining a benefit for himself. In this interesting trilogy my friends of Hive, I will tell you a story related to this topic. Let's see how it develops.

Luisa y Carol se conocían desde niñas. Sus respectivos padres eran muy buenos amigos, razón por la cual no era de extrañar que en repetidas ocasiones ellas se quedaran varios días una en casa de la otra compartiendo la misma habitación, los divertidos juegos, y un sinfín de travesuras propias de su edad. Asistían al mismo colegio y siempre eran compañeras de aula. Y si por alguna razón esto no era así, sus padres conversaban con las autoridades del colegio para que pudieran estudiar juntas. Verdaderamente eran puro amor. A ambas les encantaba participar en todas las actividades extracurriculares que programaba la institución. Sea que se tratara de canto, actuación, deportes, pintura o cualquier otra. La pasaban muy bien y las disfrutaban al máximo. Sus padres sonreían felices y orgullosos al contemplar como Luisa y Carol tenían una amistad digna de admiración.

Luisa and Carol knew each other since they were little girls. Their respective parents were very good friends, which is why it was not surprising that they repeatedly stayed several days at each other's house, sharing the same room, the fun games, and an endless amount of mischief typical of their age. They attended the same school and were always classmates. And if for some reason this was not the case, their parents would talk to the school authorities so that they could study together. They were truly pure love. They both loved to participate in all the extracurricular activities that the school programmed. Whether it was singing, acting, sports, painting or any other. They had a great time and enjoyed them to the fullest. Their parents smiled happily and proudly to see how Luisa and Carol had a friendship worthy of admiration.

Con el transcurrir del tiempo esa amistad se hacía cada vez más sólida. Tanto que al culminar sus estudios de primaria ambas ingresaron al mismo liceo y posteriormente a la misma universidad. Luisa escogió la carrera de Artes Escénicas y Carol Arquitectura. Se habían convertido en dos hermosas muchachas. Pero de carácter diametralmente opuesto. Luisa era algo arrogante y orgullosa. No se le quedaba callada a nadie. Decía lo que pensaba sin importar las consecuencias. Por el contrario, Carol era de carácter dulce, y además, muy tímida. Eso le daba un encanto especial que no poseía Luisa. En fin, a pesar de sus diferencias estaban tan unidas como siempre y enfocadas en sus estudios y en seguir manteniendo sólida su amistad.

As time went by, their friendship grew stronger and stronger. So much so that when they finished elementary school they both entered the same high school and later the same university. Luisa chose a career in Performing Arts and Carol Architecture. They had become two beautiful girls. But they were diametrically opposed in character. Luisa was somewhat arrogant and proud. She would not keep quiet for anyone. She spoke her mind regardless of the consequences. Carol, on the other hand, was sweet-natured and very shy. That gave her a special charm that Luisa did not possess. Anyway, despite their differences, they were as close as ever and focused on their studies and on keeping their friendship strong.

Luego de graduarse en sus respectivas carreras se las arreglaron para seguir juntas. Y precisamente las empresas que las contrataron para trabajar tenían sus oficinas en el mismo edificio. Por lo visto nunca pensaban separarse. Después de tener varios meses trabajando conocieron a Lucas, un muchacho algo alocado y revoltoso que llegó al país en viaje de negocios. Era arquitecto al igual que Carol y la empresa solicitó sus servicios para que los asesorara en un proyecto inmobiliario. Luisa inmediatamente se sintió atraída por él. Salieron juntos en varias ocasiones y de la noche a la mañana le comunicaron a Carol que habían decidido casarse e irse a vivir al extranjero. Esto le cayó de sorpresa. Nunca se había separado de su amiga y la situación la tenía muy triste. Pero las cosas resultaron de esa manera y debía aceptarlas. Sin embargo, ambas se comprometieron a mantenerse en contacto permanentemente. Y así fue. Hablaban casi todos los días, y en varias ocasiones Luisa invitó a Carol a visitarla. A ella le entusiasmó bastante la idea y no veía la hora de tomar vacaciones.

After graduating from their respective careers, they managed to stay together. And the companies that hired them to work for had their offices in the same building. Apparently they never planned to separate. After several months of working they met Lucas, a somewhat wild and unruly boy who came to the country on a business trip. He was an architect like Carol and the company requested his services to advise them on a real estate project. Luisa was immediately attracted to him. They went out together on several occasions and overnight they told Carol that they had decided to get married and move abroad. This came as a surprise to her. She had never been separated from her friend and was very saddened by the situation. But things turned out that way and she had to accept it. However, they both promised to keep in touch permanently. And so they did. They talked almost every day, and on several occasions Luisa invited Carol to visit her. She was quite enthusiastic about the idea and couldn't wait to take a vacation.

Mientras ese momento llegaba, Carol comenzó a planificar cuidadosamente su viaje para que no se le escapara ningún detalle. Quería que todo resultara perfecto. Como ya sabía la fecha de sus vacaciones hizo arreglos con una aerolínea y compró su pasaje. Estaba tan emocionada. Sería la primera vez que saldría del país. También imaginaba la alegría que sentiría al reencontrarse con su fiel amiga que ya tenía más de 1 año en el extranjero. Y por nada quería desaprovechar la oportunidad que se le presentaba. Tenía muchas expectativas. ¿Cómo sería el país? ¿Qué nuevas experiencias viviría allá? ¿Se sentiría bien? Y lo más importante ¿Luisa seguiría siendo la misma?. Con todas estas interrogantes que se hacía día tras día a Carol le llegó el momento de viajar. Empacó sus maletas y se dirigió rumbo al aeropuerto. "Bueno, aquí voy", pensó Carol. Ya no había vuelta atrás.

As that time came, Carol began to carefully plan her trip so that no detail would escape her. She wanted everything to be perfect. Since she already knew the date of her vacation she made arrangements with an airline and bought her ticket. She was so excited. It would be the first time she would be leaving the country. She also imagined how happy she would be to be reunited with her faithful friend who had been abroad for more than a year. And she didn't want to miss the opportunity she had been given. She had many expectations: What would the country be like? What new experiences would she have there? Would she feel good? And most importantly, would Luisa remain the same? With all these questions she asked herself day after day, it was time for Carol to travel. She packed her bags and headed for the airport. "Well, here goes," Carol thought. There was no turning back now.
