Lucy woke up from her long afternoon nap and perceived a strange smell coming from the window; it was a familiar scent, unmistakable: the sea.

But it couldn't be the sea, it was in her room, she knew her room perfectly;

The same used books, the same worn bed, his clothes in a messy corner, the same feeling of confinement in the city.

He was in his room, how could he smell the Sea?

He concentrated on the smell, until he noticed that he could hear it too; he could hear the crashing of waves against a breakwater.

He heard the seagulls singing in the distance and also; he began to feel the characteristic humidity of the coastal breeze caressing his skin.

She opened her eyes and jumped out of bed, ran to the window and was stunned; there, where before she had only seen the gray building across the street, now stretched an immense ocean. The water, a deep, crystal blue, stretched as far as the eye could see.

She laughed, nervous, impressed, bewildered and excited.

How could she have the sea within reach of her window?

She didn't hesitate for a second before sitting on the sill and dipping her feet in to test the water.

It's cool, how the sea must be.

She looked in all directions, making sure not to be seen, to finally; take off her pajamas and dive deep into it.

She climbed out to check that her window was still there; floating in the nothingness, but with full access to her room.

He dove in once more, into the deep; to grab some stars from the seabed, also some snails, saw a couple of fish swimming peacefully and even, a sock and a dolphin.

He swam as long as his body wanted him to, until gradually the day began to turn orange and the sunset began to turn the waves rougher.

He returned to his window, no problem; when he entered his room he had wet the floor, looking for a towel to dry himself.

The afternoon wind whipped the window with force, so she decided to close it while she looked for clothes to wear, so she could watch the sunset sitting from her window.

When she was ready, she took the hands, pulled them and got the gray panorama of the city.

Bewildered, she closes the window again, this time more carefully; she opens it again, to see the same gray landscape she has known since she moved to the concrete jungle.

She tries a couple of times, without success.

Gone is the smell of the sea, and the sound of the waves; now everything is replaced by the sound of cars and smog.

Was it a dream?

But the tan on his arms and the smell of salt on his clothes confirm to him that it was all real.

He smiles to himself and thanks the universe for that little trip to the sea from his room.

Thanks for reading!

==== VERSION EN ESPAÑOL ====

Pero no podía ser el Mar, estaba en su habitación, conocia a la perfección su habitación;
