The city of Suna, surrounded by thick forest and beautiful water bodies had a lot of mud houses with dried-up palm fronds as rooftops. The people of the village were very friendly and the King Danski ruled the kingdom and he did it with an iron fist. He was feared across many towns for his ferocious nature. Most people call him the soul reaper because of his willingness to end a person's life without hesitation.

So it was a surprise when he sent words out to the people of his kingdom telling them he would be giving out his daughter to the best artist, one that can make a painting of his daughter without missing a stroke. Stating that the artist who failed would be executed.

People of Suna knew the king wasn't joking with this, they knew he would give out the princess for marriage but no one had ever seen the princess. So they didn't know what she looked like or sounded like and because of that decided to reject it, and the fact that the king would execute those who failed also intensified the fear, but others who wanted the power of being affiliated with the king readily agreed without batting an eye.

Not seeing the princess was a normal thing in the kingdom, as it was a part of the tradition. The princess could only be seen after she had been married to her husband. And for that to happen a series of tasks were set in place to see who is the most capable and qualified to be her groom.

Mark, the son of a poor farmer had an undying passion for art. He had drawn so many pictures of his farm and the animals on it. And they all looked very real and beautiful. Apart from being an excellent artist, he was the only one to have ever seen the princess, although they were very little he saw her by climbing the mango tree from where he and his father went to work for the king on his farm.
So, when he heard the news from the king he felt very happy, he liked the princess a lot.

The day for the challenge came and everyone great and small trooped into the king's palace hoping to complete the task and win the hand of the princess.

But before the task began, the king prepared a feast for all that arrived, it was a big feast with a lot of options to choose from. Everyone ate and had a good time. Including Mark.

Finally, the task began, and all the contestants lined up in a single file, and one by one they were ushered into the princess's room. But as quickly as they were ushered in, they were scooped out of the room begging for a second chance.
After watching the tenth person get beheaded, the whole contestants began to murmur. And soon after, they all started to leave one after the other. And before nightfall, it was just Mark standing at the door of the princess. He didn't understand why everyone was running but he was not going to miss the chance of fulfilling his life's long dream.

The door opened and he walked in with his chest puffed and his head held high. He marveled as the princess's room was filled with gold. There were golden curtains, a golden cupboard, golden bedstand. The beauty of the room shined brightly and the smell of beauty filled the air.
He stood at the center of the room where everything could be seen and admired with ease.
In front of him was a canvas and art supplies, including brushes and paint, and beyond the canvas was a curtain that demarcated him from what he assumed to be the princess. It was held by two palace maidens.
The curtain was dropped and then he saw her, the princess. She was even more beautiful than he had imagined. She had ten times the beauty she had when she was little. From her golden hair to her fair skin, and her cherry red lips and ocean blue eyes. She was perfect.

And so, he went straight to work, painting the most beautiful being he had ever seen. He was nose deep in painting when the princess suddenly took off her dress. His concentration broke, but luckily he was able to maintain his stroke. She was beautiful and tempting with the body of a goddess. But he fought his primal instinct, sweating heavily and breathing very slowly. His eyes kept on patrolling her body recklessly, taking note of every detail of her.
Perfect he said in his mind while perfectly stroking every beauty and imperfection.

But in the end, he succeeded, he delivered a wonderful painting of the princess without missing a stroke. The king was impressed but the princess was more than just impressed, his will and his strength dazzled her.
The news went around the village like wildfire, Mark the poor farmer's son has succeeded in winning the princess as his bride.
