The Rocky Mountains near Canmore are one of the most picturesque places I've ever been. Fortunately it's only about an hour and a half away from me, so I can get some more views in anytime. There is a certain stillness to the mountains and forest when viewed from a distance. Even walking some of the paths, things can be really quiet until it sinks in and you start hearing the sounds of nature all around you; birds fly from tree to tree, and maybe a chipmunk pops up out of nowhere. It reminds me of being in a movie or some place that isn't real, but here it is.
