People photography - Photographers around the world (17 photos)

I guess you all have noticed how you often get other photographers on your photos when travelling? Naturally all other visitors are taking photos, just like we all do when travelling. We are often many people visiting the samme sights, taking photos of the same places and objects. It's almost impossible to avoid getting someone else on your own photos. ISome of the photos in this post are taken on purpose. That's when I photograph my travel companions. But most often the photographers are unknown. I will leave the link to the first post I did with photographers. The first photo shows the shadows of my sister and I outside the Cathedral in Malaga, Spain.

White Water Terrace, China

This special landscape is located at the foot of Haba Mountain, about 100 kilometers south of Shangri-la. You can walk from here and over the mountain to Tiger Leaping Gorge. We did the opposite. After hiking the gorge, we drove to the White Water Terraces. These, somewhat special terraces were formed thousands of years ago. The reason it looks like this today is a continuous deposition of potassium. Eventually, these terraces were created. Unfortunatly it was a rainy day.

Victoria Falls, Zambia

The photographer is a sister. Together with family we made up a group of six people who went to Victoria Falls. This waterfall is located between Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Zambezi River divides the two countries and makes up the border. The photo was taken on the Zambian side. But both sides should be visited. A Scottish missionary by the name of David Livingstone was the first European to discover the falls. This fall is one of the largest in the world. To walk along the trails to look at the fall and listen to the noise, was a great experience.

Lisboa, Portugal

The roof of MAAT in Lisboa is a good place to get a good view of the Tagus River and the surroundings. The building houses the musum of Art, Architecture and Technology. I did not go inside because I was there on a walk along the river, too late in the afternoon to have time enough inside. But the architecture is impressive and it's worth spending time to admire it.

Perito Moreno, Argentina

The photographer who is taking close up photo of the ice, is my son. We are visiting the Perito Moreno Glacier in Patagonia. This huge icefield is part of the Southern Patagonian Icefield, which is third largest in the world. When we were there in 2019, we were told by the guide that this glacier wasn't melting, like most others. It was actually growing. In resent time I have read that it started melting in 2020. So now it is reciding, just like other glaciers in the world.

Agra, India

One out of many photographers are standing here in The Agra Fort to take photos of Taj Mahal. (the white building in the background). The fort is build in red sandstone between 1565 and 1573. It is massive fort built for military purposes. Later emperor Shah Jahan added white marble and elegance to make it a palace. To day a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The story of Shah Jahan is connected to Agra Fort. He was the one who build Taj Mahal as a mausoleum for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal who died in childbirth. For eight years he was impreisoned at the fort. He spent these years in one of the towers. From here he had the view of Taj Mahal, so that he could look at it every day.

The Pulpit Rock, Norway

Hikers who has reached the top of The Pulpit Rock, also called the Preacher's Chair, takes photos. But on this day, when I was there, it was rainy and foggy most of the time. The view was't all that good. This Rock sees a lot of foreign tourists. It's a steep cliff that rises around 600 m.above the fjord called Lysefjorden. You can stand on the flat top, which messures 25 x 25 meters. Accidents has happened, so it's important not to go to close to the edge. I think this Rock might be the most-visited natural attractions in Norway. Another popular activity is BASE jumps from the cliff.

Fãja Grande, Flores

Among the nine Azorean (Portugal) island, Flores is the one located most westerly. Together with tiny island called Corvo, these two seems quite isolated from the rest of the islands. The photo shows my sister taking photos of the rough and rocky coast on the western side of the island. We chose to stay in Fãja Grande on the west coast in order to be able to hike the trail along the whole west coast, which is the western most coast in Europe.

Salinas Grande, Argentina

My son is the photograper sitting in the middle of the road pointing his camera towards the stripe of white in the background. That piece of white is The Salinas Grande - a large salt flat located in northern Argentina. This is probably the next best salt flat to visit if you are here and don't have the chance to visit Uyuni in Bolivia.

Luxor, Egypt

There are more than one photographer here at the The Karnak temple in Luxor. This huge temple complex is located on the eastern side of the river Nile. This temple is without any doubt one of the greatest in Luxor. An important inheritance when talking about ancient civilizations. The photo was taking in the hall of pillars. This hall has 134 pillars, arranged in 6 rows. I am not the only one who thought it was an amazing experience to walk among the tall pillars.

Lake Balaton, Hungary

When I took the photo of this unknown photograper by the shores of Lake Balaton, it was an early morning when I myself was out to take photos before breakfast. This lake is the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe and a popular tourist destination. Especially during the summer. Lots of resort towns along the shores. But the area is also of historical significance and is also one of the major wine regions in Hungary.

Villa Epecuen, Argentina

When I was in Argentina in 2023, my travel companion was one of my sisters. She is the photographer who is walking among the ruins of what was once a prosperous spa town by the shores of Lake Epecuen. This small town was developed in the 1920s. Lots of hotels, restaurants and shops were built to cater for all the people who came for treatment. It was believed the the salty water in the lake had healing qualities. In 1985 a dam broke, causing the water level to rise 10 metres. The inhabitants were evacuted. But the town was under water for 25 years, before the water started to withdraw, revealing the ruins, covered in a layer of salt. Villa Epecuen has never been rebuilt.

Venezia, Italy

More than one are photographing here on the St. Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco) in Venezia. This is the largest square you will find in Venezia. The most important as well. It's a good place to start exploring the city. On one side you will fint the Palazzo Ducale (Doge's Palace) which is a must-see.

El Chalten, Argentina

My son is the taking photos in the beautiful mountain landscape at the foot of Mt. Fitz Roy in Patagonia. The rather small town, El Chalten, might be the most popular trekking destination in southern Argentina. It makes a great base for hiking to the glacial lake at Mt. Fitz Roy, but there are so many trails in the area. A good idea will be to stay for some days and do more hikes than just comming for the Mt. Fitz Roy trek. All trails are well marked and easy to do by your self.

Pretoria, South-Africa

Again, it is one of my sisters who is the photographer here on Chuch Sq. in the city of Pretoria. The square has no church today, but it is surrounded by historic buildings. The building she is taken photos of, is The Netherland Bank that can be dated back to 1888. It used to house the bank, but there is no bank here today. There used to be a church on this square. Hence the name. But it burnt down and it was never rebuilt.

Clarke Quay, Singapore

Singapore's Clarke Quay District is the party district, but it's also worth a visit during the day. Here, we pass a wedding couple with a photographer.

Iguazu Falls, Brazil

I haven't counted the random photographers at the Iguazu Falls, but there are many. We are on the Brazilian side of the falls looking across the border towards the Argentine side. This system of waterfalls is among the top attractions in both Argentina and Brazil. The falls offer great views from both sides. The Brazilian side only has a short trail, but the view is panoramic. This is the largest system of waterfalls on our planet, added to UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1984.
