Snowy Bob

Greetings from Winter Storm Bob! The newsies keep calling her Blair but if they can pull a name out of their ass, so can I. Therefore, her name is Bob.

Bob has gifted us with nine inches of snow so far, with a nice glazing of ice on top for slickerishness purposes. It's not over yet, there's still some freezing rain falling and we're looking at another 1-3 inches of snow in the morning before Bob leaves town.

Most snow this town's seen since the 90s, so I had to climb into my heaviest Carhartts and go see for myself. Plus I had a new 85mm prime to test out.

'Test it in the snowstorm' they said. 'It'll be fun' they said. Not sure how good of a test it was, most of the time the viewfinder was too full of snow for me to be able to see what I was doing. Still, it was a good bit of fun, although not as much as these two were having. There were a lot less people out but the ones who were about were clowning for the camera even more to make up for it.

Still not sure what they were doing but they were definitely having fun doing it. Seemed like a good portion of folks out on the roads were doing the same, just out fucking around in the snow. Or maybe they were just idiots, sometimes it's hard to tell.

'And here we see the snow jeep in its native offroad habitat.' Does it even count as a U-turn if you can't see the road and it's not U shaped?

See ya! And I did, just around the corner.

Snow is supposed to end around noon tomorrow, going to try and get back out there to shoot a bit more before it does. Until then, y'all stay warm.

Great shots @coloneljethro This is one of the scenarios where I would like to take some photos. Did you manage to do more or is the snow already gone? Have a nice week

Thank you @dimascastillo90! Usually I want nothing to do with the cold but the snow makes it tolerable, at least for a little while :) Did do some more shooting, although the snow had already stopped falling by then, but the snow on the ground isn't going anywhere anytime soon, temps are supposed to drop for the next few days. Thanks, and the same to you!

I like the cold but only for a month, then it becomes intolerable 🤣 I hope to continue enjoying your photos. Thanks for sharing with us :)

Absolutely stunning photos thanks for sharing 😎👍🏾 @tipu curate

I hope you have a wonderful day ahead ✌🏾

I think Bob is a more fitting name

Which 85 did you get? seems to work well

Samyang AF 85mm f1.4. Got it used from B&H, so it's just new to me but I'm really enjoying it. Still working out how to frame shots with it properly but that's half the fun of a new lens.

Thats one i have bene looking at, also the ttartisans or pergear 35 1.4 cheap lens but may be fun for somehting different

I've never shot with a Samyang before but I'm happy with it. There was a slightly Hadn't heard of ttartisans before but looks like they don't make much for the Nikon F mount, which would explain why. That 35mm could be a bit of fun too.

and the lenses I am thinking of are cheap, which should please my wife LOL, sure at that price I cant expect too much but could be fun to play with

wow so beautiful amount !
sure it's created the amazing silence and comfortable feeling when outdoor.

It's been rather nice, especially yesterday when there was almost nobody out and about. I love the city at night when it's snowing, gives it a weird light that's so fun.

i wish to have a snow in Jerusalem this year.
