Some excellent insights here. Sometimes we need to take a step back from our instincts to be able to view things from a less emotional perspective and realise what we fear when it comes to social things doesn't need to be feared.

Totally! Precisely one of the things I learned in therapy was to always try to stop for a moment and think about where those reactions come from, and so far it has helped me improve my interactions with others.
