Agradezco a "En Séptimo Día" por la oportunidad y por motivarme en este enfoque de salud mental; también por la sana intención de continuar esta aventura en busca de nuevos e inagotables horizontes, los cuales disfruto a mis setenta y dos años en la vasta región suramericana de Brasil.
A mis 72 años, cumplidos, he aprendido que la mayor victoria es la paz del espíritu y el abrazo de un hijo. Hoy comparto con ustedes este relato de mi viaje desde Boa Vista hasta las tierras onduladas de Uberlândia, un trayecto de kilómetros, pero, sobre todo, de gratitud y salud mental. ¡Mi ser interno brilla con luz propia!
Sí, aquí estoy en Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, disfrutando de un fabuloso encuentro con mi hijo, Hiram. Estar aquí con él es fundamental para mí; representa una victoria que alcanzo tras vencer distintos desafíos en la pesada cotidianidad humana. Me tracé realizar este viaje en diciembre, el mes de la Navidad; era mi propósito y he llegado felizmente a la meta por senderos tanto espirituales como materiales.
Es emocionante el traslado desde Boa Vista (Roraima), donde resido. Subir a varios autos, ómnibus y aviones para recorrer la maravillosa distancia a través de la geografía, escuchando y hablando el idioma de la cultura luso parlante, es una experiencia única. Viajo en un estado de emociones estables; en las butacas de los buses y aviones me protejo con el cinturón de seguridad, lo que, por experiencia personal, me hace sentir confortable.
Tengo quince años viviendo solo en mi habitación. Mis compañías son los libros, los cuadernos, la computadora y mis lápices. No me considero aislado, pues la nómina de mis amistades crece considerablemente. Me siento en paz; esto es otra victoria frente a mis desafíos, ya que me he convertido en practicante de la meditación. Puedo defender, con honestidad férrea, mi productividad al mantener la actividad y renovar mi comportamiento, el cual está adherido irrenunciablemente a mi propósito y a un estilo de vida productivo.
Bajo el espíritu de esta temática, abrazo el ambiente decembrino para romper las pesadas y vetustas fronteras emocionales, transformándolas positivamente en abrazos, sonrisas y besos familiares. Mi primera opción y meta inevitable es disfrutar el momento único del presente. Tengo la luz de mi ser encendida; con cada salida a la ciudad, llevo conmigo el parlamento portugués despierto en mi conciencia. Esta lengua espiritual me otorga el placer de descubrir, en la pantalla urbana de Uberlândia, las luminosas aventuras que excitan mis emociones.
Aprecio la región orográfica donde se ubica la ciudad: la Meseta Central Brasileña. El relieve es predominantemente suave y ondulado. A veces pretendo ver montañas, quizás por la añoranza del Macizo Guayanés; sin embargo, esta región no posee sierras significativas. El terreno es relativamente plano, ideal para cultivos como soja, maíz, café, limón, naranja, cacao y caña de azúcar.
Los momentos con mi hijo son estupendos. Él cuenta con una compañera de vida con la que mantiene un sostenido equilibrio emocional. Además, tienen a Toby, un maltés encantador que me tiene cautivado con sus gestos. Es, sin duda, una recompensa de Navidad: un fiel amigo.
Creo no tener obstáculos para trascender hacia los beneficios que se logran en diciembre. Mi perfil personal me induce a convivir con salud mental en todo lugar y momento, sin provocar ni aceptar conflictos por diferencias de criterios. Vivo y dejo vivir, honrando mi edad junto a mi familia y amistades. Cuando puedo aportar algo, ya sea un gesto o un detalle material, lo hago sin esperar recompensa. Así me lo sugiere la luz de mi ser interior.

I am grateful to ‘En Séptimo Día’ for the opportunity and for motivating me in this approach to mental health; also, for the healthy intention to continue this adventure in search of new and inexhaustible horizons, which I enjoy at the age of seventy-two in the vast South American region of Brazil.
At 72 years of age, I have learned that the greatest victory is peace of mind and the embrace of a child. Today, I share with you this account of my journey from Boa Vista to the rolling hills of Uberlândia, a journey of kilometres, but above all, of gratitude and mental health. My inner self shines with its own light!
Yes, here I am in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, enjoying a fabulous reunion with my son, Hiram. Being here with him is essential for me; it represents a victory I have achieved after overcoming various challenges in the heavy daily grind of human existence. I set out to make this trip in December, the month of Christmas; it was my goal, and I have happily reached it through both spiritual and material paths.
The journey from Boa Vista (Roraima), where I live, is exciting. Getting into various cars, buses and planes to travel the wonderful distance across the geography, listening to and speaking the language of the Portuguese-speaking culture, is a unique experience. I travel in a state of stable emotions; in the seats of buses and planes, I protect myself with the seatbelt, which, from personal experience, makes me feel comfortable.
I have been living alone in my room for fifteen years. My companions are books, notebooks, my computer and my pencils. I do not consider myself isolated, as my list of friends is growing considerably. I feel at peace; this is another victory in the face of my challenges, as I have become a practitioner of meditation. I can defend, with ironclad honesty, my productivity by maintaining activity and renewing my behaviour, which is inextricably linked to my purpose and a productive lifestyle.
In the spirit of this theme, I embrace the festive season to break down heavy and outdated emotional barriers, transforming them positively into hugs, smiles and family kisses. My first choice and inevitable goal is to enjoy the unique moment of the present. I have the light of my being shining brightly; every time I go out into the city, I carry the Portuguese language awake in my consciousness. This spiritual language gives me the pleasure of discovering, on the urban screen of Uberlândia, the luminous adventures that excite my emotions.
I appreciate the orographic region where the city is located: the Brazilian Central Plateau. The relief is predominantly smooth and undulating. Sometimes I pretend to see mountains, perhaps because of my longing for the Guiana Massif; however, this region does not have any significant mountain ranges. The terrain is relatively flat, ideal for crops such as soybeans, corn, coffee, lemons, oranges, cocoa, and sugar cane.
The moments with my son are wonderful. He has a life partner with whom he maintains a steady emotional balance. In addition, they have Toby, a charming Maltese who has captivated me with his gestures. He is, without a doubt, a Christmas reward: a faithful friend.
I believe I have no obstacles to transcending towards the benefits that are achieved in December. My personal profile leads me to live with mental health everywhere and at all times, without provoking or accepting conflicts due to differences of opinion. I live and let live, honouring my age alongside my family and friends. When I can contribute something, whether it be a gesture or a material gift, I do so without expecting anything in return. This is what the light of my inner being suggests to me.
