Apoco no?
A long time ago I asked myself this question, if my partner loves me, does he/she have to accept me as I am? or should I change because of the love I feel for my partner? and well, the answer to this question I think is very obvious since a balance is necessary in our lives in order to reach a totally healthy relationship, both parties have the need to be able to change wrong behaviors, not for someone else, but for oneself.
Being a "needy" person is the best way to attract a relationship that does not work, nor will ever work, if you wait for someone else to "fix" your life, that is your "better half", you are preparing yourself for the failure of your life.
First of all, we need to be happy with ourselves in order to enter into a relationship with someone else. In this way, our happiness would not depend on someone else, but on ourselves, we need to be happy enough, and that our partner is not the center of our happiness but part of it.
In the same way, if you have a relationship with a person who does not love herself, it is totally impossible for you to please her.
You will never be worth enough for a person who is insecure, frustrated, jealous, obsessive, angry with life, spiteful, or self-hating, and even worse, if that person never accepts himself and always seeks approval, admiration, applause and recognition from others. He/she will not be able to value anyone because he/she does not value him/herself.
Very often...we go out of our way to be a good partner with people who are not able to accept our love, because they do not even know who they are. Life is a mirror.
Isn't it?
What we attract always reflects our way of being, or the beliefs we have about ourselves and relationships. What others think of us is their limited perspective on life. Life always loves us unconditionally.
As you work to resolve the obstacles in your relationship, how about beginning to exercise being your own lover?
Invite yourself to love yourself, life always reflects the feelings we have inside.
As you heal and learn to love yourself you will develop your sense of love and romance. The right person to share your intimacy with will be drawn to you like a magnet. And the best part is, you won't have to give up yourself to be with that person.
What you call "love" is sometimes an addiction to a relationship that can be a bit abusive. It seems we can get caught up in this without realizing it. You can change these old thought patterns in your relationships, you have a lot of work to do in loving yourself and building your self-esteem.
Your childhood experiences have probably made you think you are worthless, but you always can when you really want to get ahead.
