Hola a todos los amigos de la comunidad: espero que hayan pasado un buen fin de semana y que empiecen una semana exitosa. Hoy paso por aquí para participar en la iniciativa propuesta por @miriannalis: "Estoy dispuesta a soltar la necesidad de..." y a exponer mi punto de vista sobre este tema.

Cada día, los precios de las productos ecenciales para vivir en mi país como son la comida, los medicamentos y los productos de higiene, entre otros, aumentan cada vez más, y con ello crece la presión sobre mis finanzas y la del resto de las personas que no contamos con una gran entrada de ingresos diarios. Esta realidad me lleva a desear mejorar mi situación económica actual y pensar en cómo lograrlo, a buscar un respiro en medio de un mundo plagado de estrés por todas partes, por ello, la necesidad material se ha vuelto un tema recurrente en mi mente.

Every day, the prices of essential products to live in my country, such as food, medicines and hygiene products, among others, increase more and more, and with it the pressure on my finances and those of the rest of the people who do not have a large daily income increases. This reality leads me to want to improve my current economic situation and think about how to achieve it, to seek a respite in the midst of a world plagued with stress everywhere, therefore, the material need has become a recurring theme in my mind.

A pesar de las necesidades materiales a las que estamos expuestos, también existe una constante búsqueda espiritual que muchos de nosotros anhelamos. Por esta razón, hay quienes sienten la necesidad de tener un hijo o más de dos, muchas mujeres creen que traer una nueva vida al mundo les dará las fuerzas que les faltan para seguir adelante. Conozco personas que, por distintas razones, no pueden o han elegido no tener hijos y, algunas de las personas que no pueden tener un hijo, enfrentan una sensación de vacío o amargura en su existencia.

Despite the material needs we are exposed to, there is also a constant spiritual quest that many of us long for. For this reason, there are those who feel the need to have a child or more than two, many women believe that bringing a new life into the world will give them the strength they lack to move forward. I know people who, for various reasons, cannot or have chosen not to have children, and some of those who cannot have a child face a sense of emptiness or bitterness in their existence.

La necesidad de tener una casa, un apartamento o un terreno propio es otra de las necesidades que muchas personas desean y luchan por alcanzar. Después de trabajar duramente durante muchos años, algunas personas se frustran por no contar con el dinero suficiente para tener un espacio que puedan llamar suyo. Es una realidad abrumadora. En otro sentido, también se pueden encontrar otro tipo de necesidades imperiosas, como por ejemplo, las mujeres que sienten que no pueden vivir sin un marido, que sienten que no pueden salir adelante por sí solas y que necesitan tener un hombre a su lado para sentirse realizadas y aunque esto puede sonar anticuado para algunas personas, es una realidad emocional que muchas mujeres enfrentan en este siglo y no por esta razón merecen ser criticadas.

The need to own a home, apartment or land of their own is another need that many people desire and struggle to achieve. After working hard for many years, some people are frustrated that they don't have enough money to have a space to call their own. It is an overwhelming reality. In another sense, other types of compelling needs can also be found, such as women who feel they cannot live without a husband, who feel they cannot make it on their own and who need to have a man by their side to feel fulfilled and although this may sound old-fashioned to some people, it is an emotional reality that many women face in this century and not for this reason do they deserve to be criticized.

Para lidiar con mis propias necesidades personales, he encontrado refugio en actividades que me distraen. Me he unido a las excursiones fotográficas organizadas por los profesores del curso al cual asiste mi prima y a través de la práctica de la fotografía he descubierto nuevos lugares en La Habana, he conocido nuevas personas con las cuales es fácil entablar una buena conversación y he sentido la alegría de hacer algo diferente en el día. Salir a la calle con una cámara en mano y fotografiar todo lo que me llama la atención es realmente relajante, ya entiendo por qué a tanta gente les gusta este arte.

To deal with my own personal needs, I have found refuge in activities that distract me. I have joined the photographic excursions organized by the teachers of the course my cousin attends and through the practice of photography I have discovered new places in Havana, I have met new people with whom it is easy to strike up a good conversation and I have felt the joy of doing something different in the day. Going out on the street with a camera in hand and photographing everything that catches my attention is really relaxing, I understand why so many people like this art.

Yo no quiero ser rica; lo que quiero es simplemente vivir con mayor tranquilidad económica. Desde que tengo uso de razón, he escuchado a las personas aquí en Cuba hablar sobre las dificultades monetarias que enfrentamos todos. Es una realidad que antes era compartida, porque ahora hay muchas personas aquí que ya son millonarias. El dinero es tanto una maldición como una bendición. Necesitamos dinero para prácticamente todo, y aunque trabajar para el Estado ofrece cierta estabilidad económica, no es suficiente para cubrir las necesidades básicas de un ser humano de estos tiempos.

I don't want to be rich; what I want is simply to live with greater economic peace of mind. For as long as I can remember, I have heard people here in Cuba talk about the monetary difficulties we all face. It is a reality that used to be shared, because now there are many people here who are already millionaires. Money is both a curse and a blessing. We need money for practically everything, and although working for the state offers some economic stability, it is not enough to cover the basic needs of a human being in these times.

Siguiendo la recomendación de @miriannalis, he construido una frase que me ayudará a soltar la carga de mis propias necesidades y dice así: “Estoy dispuesta a tener una actitud equilibrada en cuanto al dinero para tener una vida más tranquila y plena conmigo misma”. Si bien el dinero es importante y necesario, no debe ser el único enfoque de mi vida. Espero que mi reflexión sea útil para otras personas y que así podamos aprender a vivir normalmente con nuestras necesidades.

Following @miriannalis' recommendation, I have constructed a phrase that will help me let go of the burden of my own needs and it goes like this, "I am willing to have a balanced attitude about money in order to have a calmer and fuller life with myself." While money is important and necessary, it should not be the sole focus of my life. I hope my reflection is helpful to others so that we can learn to live normally with our needs.
