Prospectors New Grand Land: Profitability analysis

I was playing Prospectors this evening and I was running some calculations about what aspect of the game brings more profit for me right now.

The game is awesome and this new server with lands as NFTs has incredible mechanics. However, it can be very confusing whether to buy the expensive tools or fight with other players for a spot in free lands.

I'm going to address here the investment part of the game. Playing for free it's possible but it's kinda hard when the economy is barely developed.

I have the possibility of handcrafting some tools. I gathered enough resources in free plots (even when I have NFT lands) to craft something. A few days ago I sold one tool for $20 and it was all profit because I made it with bare hands

Let me be clear about something: Game conditions are unique now. Very few tool shops are crafting tools and the demand is insane. Nothing you earn today can be replicated in a few days, be careful with your investments and actions.

Now, what type of work and which tools are more profitable to invest in? Let's dive into that.

If you're gonna work, you should always think about the one with more offers and buy tools accordingly:

Sledgehammer, Axe + Saw, Shovel + Pickaxe, and Shovel + Spade are the best offers since you have plenty of orders to fill.

Now, it's extremely important to analyze if buying a tool at a super high price, it's worth it (In my case I could sell the tool, or work with it)

Sledgehammer work requires only one tool but has the highest paying jobs

With an average salary of 30 gold per minute, you can earn around 180 PGL before a tool of 100h expires, or 90 PGL before the one with 50h durability expires.

That leaves you 15 PGL of earnings for sledgehammer jobs at 30 gold per minute. (check the excel available in google drive)

Let's analyze a job including two tools: shovel and pickaxe. The average salary is around 26 gold per minute. The tool's price goes around 62 PGL and the earnings are 16 PGL.

Always check how profitable is to buy tools for a job and try not to perform low demanded tasks.

My strategy will be to buy 3 sledgehammers at 76000 gold each, and craft the other one by hand. A total investment of 228 PGL. In a future post, I will show my results of the entire operation.
