On a quiet sultry August evening as the sun was setting -- fittingly known as the "the golden hour" -- I happened upon the dramatic colorworks unfolding in the skies across the street from where I live.
“Sunsets are just little glimpses of the Golden streets of Heaven.” ― Unknown
Never one to miss a photo opportunity, I hurredly opened the camera on my smartphone and began clicking images of the sunset time lapse as the sun danced away into the evening forest.

With her infinite box of colors, Nature paints a new canvas at every sunset, every sunrise and throughout the day.

Truer words were never spoken...
When I was a little child, my joy was found in a Hershey's candy bar, a stick of pink cotton candy and an Dairy Queen ice cream cone. But as I got older, life presented unpleasantries and joy no longer was a daily or even weekly experience. I learned to sip and savor moments of joy as they happened with less and less frequency.
With age comes wisdom and nowadays I find my joy with something as simple as appreciating sips of beauty found in Nature.

Of course, everyone loves Hershey's candies or Wherthers Original, but in all truth, nothing as substantial as a sunset, or a sunrise for that matter! They are equally as pure and beautiful, it's called the golden hour for a reason!

I agree with you @ninahaskin, Over the years, we learn that a single small beautiful aspect of nature that surrounds us can bring us a smile. Beautiful cloudy sunsets!
Funny how things that once were so important to have, do or achieve in life lessen in importance as we mature and the simplest things bring the biggest joy.

I have found that more enjoyment can be found in the little thing as the big things often have so much expectation that they cannot possibly live up to it.
Those skies are breathtakingly beautiful this mornings the temp was beloow freezing so I didn't go for a walk, but driving to the supermarket, the skies were amazing I so wish I had my camera with me to detour to get shots, but probably best for my health that I didnt have it LOL
