Good night or good morning everyone, hope u all doing great.
Yeah, I know… I’m a little late 😅, but well, the important thing is to keep creating and enjoy the process. I’ve been a bit busy, but I’m trying to catch up. Here’s my take on the Arctic theme..
I especially enjoy playing this character a lot!

I started this one in Corel Painter, where I worked on the first sketches. I like the program, but I’m still not super confident with the ink brushes there. It’s tricky to get those clean, sharp lines I want, so I ended up doing a few test sketches before things started to click.

I actually made around three different drafts 🙈. Each one felt a bit better than the last, but something was still missing. I wanted more strength, more attitude. I had Holozing’s penguin in mind, but I wanted to turn him into something epic ... like a warrior of the ice, strong and ready to fight through any storm.

When I switched to Photoshop, everything flowed better. I used my usual brush, the one I trust most for linework, and finally got lines that felt alive and confident. That was the toughest part ... getting the final lineart to feel clean hahahaa...

After that, things got a lot smoother. I focused on using different shades of gray to build depth and volume
I recorded the process and took screenshots from the video because it’s just easier for me that way. Sometimes I forget to save the progress while I’m drawing, so recording helps me capture each stage and later take screenshots from it.

This drawing reminded me how important it is to trust the process. Sometimes you start off unsure, doubting your lines or your tools, but as you keep going, things start to make sense. It’s all about patience, practice, and letting the work flow at its own pace.

I added a few background details, like snowflakes and a frosty environment, to capture that Arctic feeling. I didn’t want to overload the composition, though ..... hmmmm the penguin warrior had to be the star. The texture on the fur, the metallic shine on the armor, and the light contrast were my favorite parts to refine.

So yeah, I might be a bit behind on the challenge, but I’m still here catching up..... and honestly, I’m happy with how it turned out hahahah I really liked this little Zingu .

Thank you very much for taking the time to view my work.
Oh, and one more thing before I wrap up...

A while ago I was looking for this little shark you see down here 🦈. It’s really special to me. I won it a long time ago here, n it was done by a person many years ago but also I consider a GREAT GREAT GREAT FRIEND now n who does amazing work , very talented🤗.
I thought I had lost it , I was very sad… but noooo! I got it back! Yes ! He found n sent it to me again, and I’m so happy to have it with me once more.
So from now on, this shark will be keeping me company 💙
Now yes! See you next time.
