Hello guys!
Today I present to you the Water Dragon fanart. I saw Hadley's painting of the Great Green Dragon fanart a day ago and was quite motivated to draw one. I did paint a dragon before but it was fire based so this time I decided to paint the opposite element which is water 🌊. All these guys resembles Charmillion in a way so it was easy to get a pose reference since they are of similar body type. Once I was done sketching the basic pose I transformed it into the offical version with some design changes of my own for fun hehe.
The idea was to paint the water dragon in a water ball so it was so much fun doing the background this time. The final touch-up of glowing waves combined with the shading technique I used here on the dragon's body made the painting a bit more alive haha.
