Today I want to share with you the process behind my latest creation: a fanart of the enigmatic Healer of Holozing Forest. This character has always fascinated me, and I finally decided to bring my design to him using Sketchbook. Here I show you how the process was:
Initial Sketch: I started with a light sketch, tracing the general lines and posture of the healer. I wanted to capture the mystical essence of her, so I focused on her penetrating gaze.
Defining the Contour: Once satisfied with the sketch, I went on to define the contours with darker and more precise lines. This step is crucial to clean up the drawing and prepare it for color.
Base Color: I chose a natural and green color palette that resonated with Holozing's forest environment. I applied the base color, taking care not to go outside the contours.
Shading and Light: With the base ready, I worked on the shadows and highlights to give depth and volume to the healer. The darker shadows in the folds of her clothing and the subtle highlights in her hair and skin really helped the image come to life.
Final Details: For the final touches, I added details like sparkles in her eyes. I also incorporated forest elements, like leaves in her hair, to connect with her spiritual home.
Refinement: I went over the entire drawing, adjusting colors and contrasts, and adding any details I felt were missing. This step is essential to make sure everything is in order.
And that's how my interpretation of the Holozing Forest Healer was born. I hope this step by step has inspired you to create your own art.
