I hope you are all well today. This time, I want to share my most recent Fanart illustration with you. This time, I decided to depict Panyin, one of the newest characters introduced by @holozing, and one that has undoubtedly become one of my favourites. For this version, I opted for a style more focused on anime, with fine lines and cel-shading colouring.

Before starting with the process, I want to share a personal experience with you. I was trying out the Ibis Paint app, but I decided to finish the illustration in Clip Studio Paint. For some reason, I felt slightly uncomfortable, which affected my workflow, so I have only been able to work comfortably and smoothly with Clip Studio so far.

Espero que todos ustedes se encuentren bien el día de hoy. En esta ocasión quiero compartir con ustedes mi más reciente ilustración Fanart. Esta vez decidí representar a Panyin, uno de los personajes más nuevos que ha presentado @holozing y que sin duda se convirtió en uno de mis favoritos. Para está versión opté por un estilo más enfocado en el anime, con trazos finos y un coloreado cel shading.

Antes de comenzar con el proceso quiero compartirles una experiencia personal. Estuve probando la app de Ibis Paint, pero decidí terminar la ilustración en Clip Studio Paint. Por alguna razón me sentí algo incomodo, lo que afectó mi flujo de trabajo, por lo que solamente he podido trabajar de manera cómoda y fluida con Clip Studio hasta el momento.

✒️Sketch and Lineart :

For the sketch and lineart, I initially worked in the Ibis Paint app. I used a concept art technique to define the character's silhouette, and from there, I traced the lines and finally the finished lineart.

Para el boceto y lineart trabajé inicialmente en la app de Ibis Paint. Utilicé una técnica de concept art para definir la silueta del personaje y, a partir de allí, fui trazando las líneas y finalmente el Lineart final.

🎨Base Colors :

At this point, I decided to switch to the Clip Studio app to apply the base colours to the character. For some reason, Ibis's selection tools gave me a very pixelated result when selecting and painting shapes, which made it difficult to maintain a clean finish.

En este punto decidí pasar a la app de Clip Studio para aplicar los colores base en el personaje. Por alguna razón las herramientas de selección de Ibis me daban un resultado muy pixelado al momento de seleccionar y pintar formas, lo que dificultaba mantener un acabado limpio.

🌄Application of Shadows and Environment :

Next, I moved on to working on the character's shadows. For this step, I used a Watercolour-type brush to create the shadows with some opacity and colour blending, maintaining a cel-shading style. Then, I added a violet tone to the shadows to achieve a more visually appealing finish.

Después pasé a trabajar en las sombras del personaje. Para este paso utilicé un pincel tipo Acuarela para crear las sombras con algo de opacidad y mezcla de color, manteniendo un estilo cel shading. Luego añadí un tono violeta a las sombras para lograr un acabado más atractivo visualmente.

✨Application of Lights, Background and Final Details :

Once the shadows were applied to the character, I changed the background colour to white and, using a leaf brush, created a green floor to place the character in the composition. Afterwards, I added a rectangle with a blue colour gradient to shape the sky, and finally, I applied a lighting layer to integrate the character more naturally with the background.

Una vez aplicadas las sombras en el personaje, cambié el color de fondo a blanco y, con un pincel de hojas, hice un piso de verde para ubicar al personaje en la composición. Después agregué un rectángulo con un degradado de color azul para dar forma al cielo, y finalmente apliqué una capa de iluminación para integrar al personaje de manera más natural con el fondo.

Finally, I added the finishing details, adding lights and reflections, and I also worked a bit more on the background, applying some free strokes that helped simulate the sky.

P.S.: Little by little, I have been adapting to drawing on my Android tablet, but I still haven't found an app that matches Clip Studio Paint. Although apps like Infinite Painter and Ibis Paint are good options for illustration, when we talk about Design and file and text management, they fall short because of how basic they tend to be. For now, the only major drawback of Clip Studio is its subscription model; otherwise, I wouldn't look for another alternative on Android.

Finalmente agregué los detalles finales, añadiendo luces y reflejos y también trabajé un poco más en el fondo, aplicando algunos trazos libres que ayudaron a simular el cielo.

PD: Poco a poco me he ido adaptado a dibujar en mi tablet Android, pero aún no encuentro una app que iguale a Clip Studio Paint. Aunque apps como Infinite Painter y Ibis Paint son buenas opciones para ilustración, cuando hablamos de Diseño y gestión de archivos y texto se quedan cortas por lo sencillas que llegan a ser. Por ahora la única gran desventaja de Clip Studio es su modelo de suscripción, de no ser así, no buscaría otra alternativa en Android.
