Zingtober Entry 23: Rust.
It was fun creating the illustration of the day, I feel like it was pretty fluid after I had thought about what to do. Initially I was wanting to draw a car, but I don't know, it didn't convince me. After imagining the sea and so on, because in the end rust is a result of prolonged exposure of metal to water, I said: A submarine!. It was mainly just a Zing submarine, but then I saw it so lonely that I drew a Water Whale evolution.
This is my first submarine ever, and also my first time with my whale friend. I had fun experimenting with things in this illustration, that's often what I do, until I find a result that I like. To carry out the word of the day, I have helped myself with this effect with a brush called: Smoke Brush. I feel that it has given that corrosion effect to my Zing submarine.
Let's quickly see Drawing process:
I started with a sketch, as I told you, my initial idea was just the Zing submarine. Then I got what I call crazy and I decided to draw the evolution of Water Whale, I think it suits it very well. It definitely gave it a Glow up. For this illustration I used brushes like: Smooth round pen, smoke brush, airbrush, blur, parallel round pen and water drops. As tools, I used the default shapes, Gaussian effect, clipping layers, luminosity, darkening.
