Entry 19 to Zingtober!

Catching up has been a challenge, Zingtober has helped me appreciate my creative processes and love each thing that makes up my day to day and try to organize my time more. Lately I've been thinking about some ideas for the end of the month, I think it will be something great, I'll tell you about them in due time. The word of the day 19 is: Ridge. I had to do some research, I didn't know its meaning in my language, because when translated it means "Crest", and I know that as a hanging and reddish part like for example on chickens. After researching, I found Mountain Ridge, but what Holo could be so strong and Rustic to live in mountains?

Ahhhh... Sure, a Normal or Earth Type Holo!

Drawing mountains is not really my strong point, I think I should improve the creation of backgrounds or surroundings, hehe. But I did what I could, the interweaving of the mountains gives them a notable connotation throughout the illustration. To speed up this process, I used a new brush, called: Parallel round pen, which makes several strokes at the same time, unlike the smooth round pen, which makes one at a time. I used the latter in most of the strokes in the illustration, but at different thicknesses depending on the case, weight or effect I wanted.

I started with a sketch, and then moved on to a more careful outlining stage, my faithful ally: an eraser. Then I moved on to a stage of more detail and shadows, to better establish the style. I spent a while checking the availability of brushes, I wanted some texture and something to speed up the weaving process, that's when the Canvas Brush and Parallel Round Pen came into action. I think they have been nice and key in the perception of the final illustration. Finally, I did a stage of shadows and shine to the Holo, this gave it a more striking and careful finish.
