Fan Art: Female Healer of the Ocean, Inspiring Muse of Holozing.

in Holozing Community2 months ago (edited)

Hey, Hey, here's the @lacochinaensalsa!

This Sunday was anything but normal. I spent the whole day going from one place to another doing different things. At around 8 pm I was able to sit down calmly and just draw. I had had an idea of an Ocean Healer Fan Art since early in the morning, but I was only able to do it at night. The drawing took me a little longer than I thought, here it is already 2 am, and I barely finished it. I wanted to share it with you, taking advantage of the early morning, as the new dawn brings many things and I preferred not to wait 🙃.

I definitely loved the result.

Certainly one of my favorite healers is the one of light, however the Healer of the Ocean follows very closely. I love cold tones, I wanted to combine blues with violet. I kept the haircut in my version of the healer (I love short hair), but I have used a different coloring technique. On the other hand, I sincerely put effort into every detail, but again I felt that when the outfit has a white base, I should work on it differently. But, far from everything, I really enjoyed the process from start to finish.

Without a doubt my blues were different, but that's what I wanted, I wanted the inspiration of the element, some characteristics, but at the same time it was a very original version. One of the things I had the most fun doing was the hair details. I really liked the lights, and those flashes of Goddess and apotheotic aura. My Fan Art also has a hair detail, an accessory, but more inspired by corals and some starfish. Another of the most complex details, of my process and personally, was the water that falls on the hand. Honestly, I had drawn water before, but not in the sensation or thought of falling movement, but more in a static style. Despite the difficulty of thinking that was contrary within me, I feel that it turned out quite acceptable.

Let's quickly see Drawing process:

To make the illustration I use my tablet, pencil and Medibang Paint as a drawing program. Basically, that's all I use, plus time. I started by building a general sketch of the most defined shapes of my character. Later, I continued with an alternating phase between adding details and cleaning. I normally work in this phase by zones oriented towards order, but today, I don't know what was happening to me that I did it in a way that was almost more disorganized than disorganized. That brought about the fact that even when I was already coloring, I had to go back to the sketch layer and erase some details that affected the neatness of the illustration.

Coloring and light details

For the coloring stage, I used, as always, the paint bucket. I like it because it saves me a lot of time. But sometimes I forget to configure the expansion and I have to do some manual touch-ups. I like to work on each layer with its color, so later I can use "Crop" and not suffer going from one side to the other with the details. While I was coloring, in some parts I went with the details, sometimes I like to experiment in the illustration step and do it more freely, less methodically. The brushes I used were: regular pencil, airbrush, watery acrylic, blur, cloud and some shape tools. I also used layers like lighting and multiplication.

I moved on to working on the eyes

The eyes are my true "trust the process" thing. I wanted them blue, mixed tones, but with lots of white sparkles and dark details. While I was coloring the eyes, my daughter watched me and said, "Mom, that doll has crooked eyes" haha... I laughed a lot, but I continued working on the eyes while she just complained. When I finished she said, "Now it looks decent!"
