Let's start with the second part of the title, as it may not be very clear what I'm referring to.
Right now, the only way to purchase Alpha Energy Vials on Holozing is using HIVE or HBD. That's on top of having a Hive account and using Hive Keychain.
Let's face it, for someone from outside the Hive ecosystem, it can be challenging to find a way to bring other crypto inside, without knowing the right paths. I'd say the reverse can be true as well, when we go to other ecosystems, but people are more familiar with more popular ecosystems, especially if they are similar.
At the same time, even if someone brings in an important amount of crypto to Hive, where do they find the liquidity to swap it?
I noticed someone in the Holozing discord asking for directions on what they need to use to make Holozing work (i.e. Hive Keychain) and how to bring in some ETH or something from that ecosystem to Hive to buy vials.
They seemed determined to make things work, but how many will be like that? Not many. But in about a month, more crypto coins will be added to Holozing as options to purchase vials directly. That would be a major convenience for someone who has funds on other ecosystems. It is relatively easy for a crypto person to create a Hive account and use Hive Keychain, but to move the needed funds around and swap them in the right amounts, that can become complicated, and they may not want to go through that.
However, when they'll have the option to buy directly with the coins they have in their wallets without moving them around, with the price already filled in, without leaving the game interface, and without any swap slippage, that's different.
We may see significant purchases of vials after that... And I'm hoping we will, because those funds are coming into Holozing, and thus the Hive ecosystem, even if that would dwarf my own rewards.
That's what I meant about the early bird advantage we, as Hivers, still have. Nobody is stopping someone from the outside to buy right now, but those who either don't have the time to research or prefer the convenience will wait until their own wallets are integrated.
On Monday, I said I wouldn't buy more vials. Well, I reconsidered, and used mainly funds from other games to buy 2 more vials, and I have 7 now. But I think I'll stop here at least until healers would be sold. Then, I considered to temporarily delegate HP to the project again, seeing the APR around 24%, but I'm glad I didn't go through with this, because in the meantime the APR went way down to 17% and I think it's better to cool off.
Two New Achievements
Two new achievements have been added to Holozing and announced today.
They both have 4 tiers and when you complete the next tier it will replace the lower tier, they won't be added together.
They are also both harder to achieve than the Advent Calendar, and on a progressive scale getting much harder with each tier.
The first new achievement is about referring new people who make purchases. I discovered this one and claimed it probably from the day it was added, which is the day before yesterday?
I only have tier 1, which means at least one referral which made at least one purchase.
Before seeing the announcement post with the tiers, I thought the next tier would be 5. So it was a nice surprise to see it is 3 instead.
But it comes with a caveat. Your 3 referred people must collectively make at least 6 purchases (in the announcement they are called "rewards", not purchases, but I believe they are the same thing looked at from different angles - one from the referral's perspective who makes purchases, and the other one from the referrer's perspective who receives rewards).
The challenge for the referral achievement doesn't seem to differentiate between a referrer with 3 referrals, each buying 2 vials, and a referrer with 3 referrals of which only one purchased 6 vials (one at a time?). The bottom line is the same, but in one case you potentially have 3 active players while in the other only 1.
The other two tiers for the referral achievement are:
- Tier 3: Referred 10 users and earned 60 referral rewards
- Tier 4: Referred 100 users and earned 1800 referral rewards
You can see the vials per user average increases with the number of users that need to be referred.
The second new achievement is called the contributor achievement, and basically represents milestones for ZING earnings in the game through various means (currently, HP delegation, staking rewards, and achievement rewards). So, without LP rewards.
Even tier 1 is very high in this case, but Acid said things will likely go swifter once the game is released.
- Tier 1: Contributed over 1 Million Zing in rewards
- Tier 2: Contributed over 5 Million Zing in rewards
- Tier 3: Contributed over 10 Million Zing in rewards
- Tier 4: Contributed over 100 Million Zing in rewards
Note that if you earned ZING through the counted means and sold it, they still matter for this achievement.
Only 20 people have contributed enough to claim at least Tier 1, with a few more close to it. I expect there are more people with Tier 1 referral achievement, although I don't know.

The good part about this is the early buyers/participants get to enjoy a larger slice of ZING, before the hourly drops get diluted by more people joining in. Shall enjoy while it lasts. Hehe!
Yep, it pays to pay attention, lol!
Keep in mind the delegation APR mainly went down due to a large new delegator entering the space, the others are still quite unaffected although price is naturally dropping with delegators and other earners taking profit which is fine!
Just thought I'd mention it
Yes, I saw your mention in discord! 695,000k delegated to Holozing yesterday by a whale! That's impressive!
The argument about moving money over does seem like an issue. However, I do think that they will resolve that over time. It makes me wonder if the people who get in later are the ones that get in cheaper or not. We don't know where things will go there.
The achievement system looks nice. Will they do anything in the game?
They will. In about a month or so, they will add other cryptocurrencies as options to buy vials with.
You mean from the 3rd party market? Or after some time in the bull run? I agree, they both can be opportunities, since vials are priced in HBD and 3rd party markets can provide some nice buying options.
What they won't have will be this period of rewards. Which may be enough to compensate or not. Depends on how the ZING price moves compared to the general crypto market.
I don't know if it will make any difference for the gameplay (probably not), but it does bring some additional collection rewards.
I like the calculated steps that the Holozing team is taking. Also, the overall direction of their gamification with the Vials, Achievements, and Zing rewards feels like I'm witnessing the development of a top-notch game.
I agree with you that there need to be more avenues for people outside of Hive to participate in Vial sales. That being said, I'd like to enjoy my early bird Zing rewards a little bit longer 😂.
I expected the HP Delegation APR to drop. Now I'm considering taking a risk with the Hive-Zing LP.
It certainly feels that way, doesn't it? If we include all the posts with details about the gameplay will be, which shows how well details are considered, it makes be very positive about Holozing.
They will come soon enough, and I agree with you, I enjoy the extra early bird ZING rewards as well, lol.
Just remember these rewards don't count for contributor achievement. And to think I've been a provider to the diesel pool a lot in the first few months too.
Noted about the LP, I think I read Acid’s comment somewhere.
I have put anything in the pool so I figured to add some funds to it. The APR is just too shiny ✨ right now 😉
It is a good APR, that's true. 😉
The proposal sounds interesting, I already have my first vials through Hive but others, if they are interested and have another crypto, it would be easier and a good option. genial
Yes, Holozing will add more crypto options to buy vials soon, in about a month or so. It is needed to make it easy to expand beyond Hive.
Holozing is making solid progress. Hopefully soon other coins will be added as a means of making direct purchases of the vials. The achievement tiers introduced as also a welcome development. Too sad I might not be able to take advantage of the early bird chance for Hivers. We will see. Thanks for posting and have a good day.
Yep, @acidyo said they will be added when vials will be openable, which is in about a month.
People love achievements, indeed.
Correct, you can have 1 referrer who bought 6 but as long as you have a total of 3 referrers you're still eligible for the achievement. Some unlucky people may only have 2 referrers but 20x rewards, I guess just try and refer another user in that case. :D
When you say 6 rewards, do you refer to 6 transactions? Because if that's the case, I assume people would start advising their referrals to buy vials one by one instead of in bulk.
Hmm, I'm pretty sure it's meant to be for each vial, but good point will check with @rishi556. It's definitely not meant to exclude those buying in bulk!
Yes, per vial seems the right way to calculate this.
and yeah the contributor achievement is meant to be something that'll become more common over a long time, I imagine most will get it simply by playing for a year or so and as you say even if they don't hold much zing but decide to burn it to progress in the game or simple trade it off for hive they may still attain them. The token itself is quite inflationary too so it'll only get easier to rise the ranks over time, at least in terms of zing earned.
Thanks for the extra information!
They are well-chosen achievements. The referral one is more time-sensitive, while the contributor achievement seems designed for the long haul as long term targets.
I imagine tier 4 of both new achievements will be quite challenging for any user.
What do you mean by time-sensitive, btw?
It's not something that'll be limited to the alpha vial, it'll count towards beta vials as well and healer mints + potentially other things we may sell in the future (such as land 👀)
I meant there is a sort of a competition to bring new people in. 😀
What will come first? The beta vials or the healer mints?
Definitely healer mints, players will need healers to play and the beta is meant to officially "start" the game, i.e. everyone starts at lvl 1 healers, lvl 1 creatures and 0 professions learned. Beta vials are meant for the "later crowd" along with "beta healers" by then, although that may not sound great lol, basically alpha healers will be limited supply compared to alpha vials and the next generation of healers will be slightly different looking at the base.
That means we might have healer mints + a playable alpha this year? I guess everyone is excited by now, lol.
Public alpha will be strictly testing, we may give out achievements/badges for players having participated but everything will be reset for the beta, i.e. no real nfts and progression.
hard to say timelines as there's always something that takes longer
