Wuzaru Drawing - Holozing Fan Art [ENG-ESP]

Hello dear Holozing friends, I hope you're all doing well. Once again, I'm here to share a new fan art with you. For this one, I've chosen Wuzaru, one of the latest creatures revealed. I read in its brief description that it's a monkey that specializes in melee combat but also uses energy attacks, specifically fire. I really liked its design; we needed a primate, and I think this was a great choice. I created this fan art with colored pencils, and my goal was to give it a digital look using colored pencils. That's why I put a lot of effort into giving the drawing a lot of texture, especially in the fur. Below, I'll briefly explain the whole process. Let's begin!

Hola queridos amigos de Holozing, espero que se encuentren muy bien, una vez más me encuentro por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo fan art, para ello he escogido a Wuzaru, una de las últimas criaturas reveladas, pude leer en su pequeña reseña que es un mono que se especializa en el combate cuerpo a cuerpo pero que también usa ataques de energías, específicamente de fuego. Me gustó mucho su diseño, necesitábamos un primate y creo que este ha sido una gran acierto. Este fan art lo he realizado con lápices mi colores y mi propósito al dibujarlo es darle una apariencia digital pero a través de los lápices de colores, es por ello que me esforcé mucho para que el dibujo tuviera mucha textura, especialmente en pelo. A continuación comentaré brevemente como estuvo todo el proceso, comencemos!

PROCESS

Before I begin, I should mention that I had a minor accident with the index finger of my right hand, although it looks like it's on my left in the picture. I have a makeshift splint while it heals, but that doesn't stop me from drawing. Besides, I'm quite good with a pencil in my left hand. So, using both hands, I was able to sketch Wuzaru a simple pencil sketch that I'll gradually color in with colored pencils.

Antes de comenzar les cuento que sufrí un pequeño accidente en el dedo índice de mi mano derecha, aunque en la imagen se ve como si fuera de la izquierda, tengo un entablillado improvisado mientras se me cura, pero eso no me impide seguir dibujando, además que manejo bien el lápiz con la mano izquierda. Así que utilizando ambas manos pude hacer el boceto de Wuzaru, un boceto simple solamente con lápiz para luego pintar con lápices de colores poco a poco.

To begin painting this drawing, I started by painting the white areas. Since I wanted it to be intense and eye-catching, I used white paint, so I painted the eyebrows and part of the eyes. Then I shaped the retina with yellow and orange, adding a little brown to the edges, and finishing with black in the center. That's how I painted both eyes.

Para comenzar a pintar este dibujo lo que hice fue pintar las partes blancas, como quería que fuera algo intenso y llamativo utilicé pintura blanca, así que pinté las cejas y parte de los ojos. Luego le fui dando forma a la retina con amarillo y naranja y en los bordes un poco de color café, finalizando con color negro en el centro, así fue como hice ambos ojos.

After that, I started painting Wuzaru's entire face. Here, I selected colors that would allow me to give his face texture. I did this by mixing a brick color, which is like a red with a light brown appearance. Then I added a pastel color similar to his skin tone, which allowed me to blend and mix the previous color. This then enabled me to create shadows while adding a light brown and then a dark brown. By playing with tones and contrasts, you can achieve the desired result, and up to this point, it was turning out as I wanted.

Luego de esto comencé a pintar a todo el rostro de Wuzaru, aquí hice una selección de colores que me permitieran darle textura a su rostro, esto lo hice mezclando un color ladrillo, que es como un rojo que tiene la apariencia de café claro. Luego fui agregando un color pastel parecido al color de la piel, así pude difuminar y mezclar el color anterior, lo que luego me permitió hacer sombras mientras agregaba un color café claro y luego café oscuro. Jugando con los tonos y los contrastes se puede lograr el resultado deseado, y hasta aquí estaba saliendo como yo quería.

Next, on the outer part of the face, I began painting the blue line that Wuzaru has, mixing light blue with purple, both colors blended with white for contrast. Then I continued painting his ears using the same color palette as the skin on his face, and of course, the hair on his head. To make it stand out more, I used slightly darker colors, but still within the range I've been using. I also started painting the flames that protrude from his shoulders, which help him unleash his energy attacks on his enemies.

Seguidamente en la parte exterior del rostro comencé a pintar esa líena azul que tiene Wuzaru, mezclando azul claro con púrpura, ambos colroes mezclados con blanco para darle un contraste. Así luego continué pintando sus orejas utilizando la misma gama que en la piel del rostro, y pro supuesto el pelo de la cabeza, y para que se pudiera notar mejor utilicé colores un poco más oscuros, pero que estan dentro del tono que hasta ahora he utilizando. También comencé a pintar las llamas que sobre salen de sus hombros, y que le ayudan a poder hacer sus ataques de energías a sus enemigos.

Now, continuing with the rest of the body, I began painting all the hair, using the same colors I used for the hair on the head. My strokes were quick, small lines one on top of the other, because my goal was for the hair to be clearly visible, and this is the best way to achieve that.

Ahora continuando con el resto del cuerpo, comencé a pintar todo el pelo de su cuerpo, utilizando para eso los mismos colores con los cuales hice el pelo de la cabeza. Lostrazos que hice fueron rápidos, líneas pequeñas una encoma de la otra porque mi objetivo era que el pelo pudiera apreciarse de forma nítida y esta es la mejor forma de hacerlo.

To finish, I used a technique I hadn't used in a long time. With a flat brush, I began to blend the colors. Since these pigments are oil-based, they mix easily. By doing this over all parts of the body, the appearance of the hair changes and becomes a bit more realistic.

Para finalizar utilicé una técnica que hace mucho no usaba, con un pincel plano comencpe a difuminar los colores, como estos pigmentos son aceitosos, se mezclan con facilidad. Al hacerlo por toda spartes dle cuerpo la apariencia del pelo cmabia y se torna un poco más realista.

FINAL WORK

What do you think of the result? I wanted to give the drawing a lot of texture. Another advantage is the type of paper; this one, called Fabriano, has many pores, which helps the hair look better even after all the colors have been blended with the brush. I hope you liked it. ¿Qué les ha parecido el resultado? Quise darle mucha textura al dibujo, otra ventaja es el tipo de papel, este que se llama fabriano tiene muchos poros, lo que ayuda a que el pelo se vea mejor aún cuando se ha difuminado todos los colores con el pince. Espero que les haya gustado, para mi fue todo un gusto pdoer hacerlo y compartirlo, por ahora me despido hasta pronto!
