A new chapter and of course new content for all of you, here I am once again showing my failed facet as an artist 😂 wanting to make a space for myself among so much talent with my humble works, but hey... Believe me I have a great time in the process and I remember those good times as a kid when I used my drawing blog and let my creativity run wild.
Dear friends of platform and community, I add one more post in this great community that promises and ensures a lot of fun for the not too distant future with this incredible game project HOLOZING. In my case, and as I told you at the beginning of this post, I made a digital drawing of this great creature GLIMMO. All this without any special program, the basic program which we can all have in our computer, Paint, accompanied by patience, a little bit of pulse and of course creativity so that the simple can have its striking touch. So join me and get to know what the process was.
As in most cases, if not all, I will speak from my point of view, my way of working, how it is easier for me and without any knowledge of the art I can get a decent result that may be useful even being simple and simple tips.
To start I always like to use or find a middle point, the center of the canvas, that point of reference that can help us to orient ourselves in how we are going to develop our work.
Once we have our central point, in this case part of the head of the creature, I began to add details like eyes and nose, this way we will notice how it takes shape what at first seems only figures. Faces have always been difficult for me, no matter if they are people, animals or creatures, it is something that seems easy, but I consider this one of the most important details and steps, because with the wrong measures and wrong distances the drawing loses completely the form, it is incredible how something so simple can be crucial for future details.
Having already the reference of most of the creature's head, I proceeded to draw part of the neck and body. I wanted to give a distinctive touch to the original image and make it even more friendly to our friend GLIMMO, greeting all the Hivers who decided to stop by today 🤣. But don't trust him, in spite of his tender image, he is a creature that can give a lot of fight and become an opponent that offers a lot of resistance, a particularity well taken by his inspiration from the animal the Tortoise.
Practically we already have the whole body of the creature, it is time to focus on the smallest details, eyes: Which had a lot of detail and not easy for a beginner like me and even more for the above mentioned that this part is one of the most important.
Just as the eyes are to highlight, so is its skin, we must make clear why it is a resistant creature, that's why we will make with some scales the sensation of thick and strong skin, not many not to overload the drawing.
Now we have the silhouette of our friend, so it is time to give it color, make it more striking and colorful, this is not a big problem because Glimmo has intense colors that make it stand out easily.
This is the moment where we begin to see almost the results of so much effort and feel more and more motivated to finish it to see the final result.
The colors make it striking...YES, but that's not all, there is still a final detail that manages to enhance even the simplest drawing, one that has helped me a lot since I learned the importance of it and it has its logic because it is nothing invented.
Many times we focus on the basics and do not let us see beyond, without realizing the importance of a shadow, the lighting, how it transforms and gives life to a drawing. Imagine if at a beginner level you can achieve a decent result, what can be achieved by mastering this effect is crazy. For this the basic concept is to know from which side we will decide our point of illumination and therefore the opposite side will be each of the shadows.
Finally and finally, a background to frame our work, to highlight even more what was a process to which we put a lot of effort and cost us time and test our patience.
And with this final result, this greeting from our friend Glimmo I say goodbye hoping that you liked or at least found useful some of the tips I shared with you today. Until another opportunity Hivers!
