Hello to Pixelians and Earthlings alike. Features continue to roll out on the now live Rise of the Pixels game here on Hive. We'll quickly cover Seasons, Gadgets, and other updates.

RotP Seasons

Modelled after our Launch contests, Seasons are 10-day recurring events that track in-game actions and award points to Players. You can check your point total on the Leaderboard. After a 10-day period, an automatic raffle will happen, where 1 point = 1 raffle ticket.

🎟 Earning tickets is simple: just play the game! Specifically, we will award tickets as follows:

• For time spent creating games, 0.5 tickets for every 3 hours (max 4 tickets for a 24 hour game).
• Completing research: Mark One gives 0.5 tickets • Mark Two: 1.0 • Mark Three+: 2.0
• Any training: 0.5 tickets
• Successful referrals: 10 tickets
• Best game of the day (solo and small teams): 5 tickets

 

 
🎁 Prizing will evolve as we test the system and get community feedback. For Season 1 (ending May 24, 2024 9:00 AM UTC), we will raffle off:

• $PXL tokens (which will be purchased from the Hive Engine market)
• Gadget Cases 😮
   

🎲 Gadget Cases

These new openable packs contain special accessories, RotP consumable items, as well as finite "reaction" objects.

Season 1 winners will be able to obtain these Gadget Cases but they will not be openable until we finalize the goodies they contain (we're actively working on it). As a teaser though:

• Special accessories can boost your NFT Workers even further.
• Consumables will give Players all sorts of temporary boosts or abilities.
• Game Reactions are cosmetics that will allow you to show appreciation (or vote) on other Players' creations...

Other updates

Apart from new features, there are loads of other changes:

• Added a new research project: "Background Animations"
• Added "upkeep all" option for research
• Improved training center names and descriptions
• Issued a $PXL reimbursement to players impacted by early balance issues
• New market filter for pure/non pure NFTs
• Players can now view $PXL tokens stats (supply, liquid, ...)
• Tuned the rating algorithm to take into account more specific genre/theme/platform combinations
• Added a new compact view mode (aka table) for team members and accessories
• Improved performance for Marketplace pages
• Displaying token prices and daily volume in Marketplace
• New time range filters in top sellers page
• Players can check PXL balances when creating a game or starting research
• Improved HIVE token price synchronization between website and backend
• Minor performance improvements for marketplace filters
• Some UI adjustments on mobile
• Minor API improvement for API transaction details in Logbook, and...
• Getting ready for token staking and HE liquidity pool integration 🔥
