The genus Nomia is a group of bees belonging to the apidae family and is known for its important role in the ecosystem as a plant pollinator. Bees in this genus generally have small to medium body characteristics, with varying body colors, ranging from yellow to black. , to bluish and they are widespread in various regions of the world, especially in tropical and subtropical regions and can be found in many ecosystems, from grasslands to dense forests.

Nomia bees have an interesting way of life and are very different from several other types of bees, nomia bees are not only efficient pollinators but nomia bees also build nests in the ground, these nests are usually located in holes that they dig themselves, although there are several species that utilize gaps in rocks or trees, apart from that, the nomia genus is also known as a solitary bee, which means that each female individual is very responsible for building and caring for her own nest, this is in contrast to social bees such as apis which undergo live in large colonies.

Another unique thing that Nomia bees have is their way of eating which tends to be more diverse. Nomia bees usually collect nectar and pollen from various types of flowers, but it is not uncommon for them to carry out cross-pollination between different plant species, and their actions really contribute to this. on the diversity and sustainability of the ecosystem in which they live, pollination activity is vital for the growth and reproduction of flowering plants, which in turn supports the survival of various other living creatures that depend on these plants.

However, it is also important to know that although nomia bees have a big role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem, nomia bees also face various threats due to habitat destruction, climate change and the use of pesticides, these threats can reduce the number of nomia lena populations and affect the pollination process. is vital for the survival of various plant and animal species, therefore, I think protecting the habitat of nomia bees and efforts to reduce the use of harmful chemicals will be an important step in preserving the existence of nomia bees and the ecosystem as a whole.

Never heard of bees making home in the ground. Thanks for this information. If it goes extinct can't imagine what loss we'll suffer. Many more plant species will also face the risk of extinction in that case.
