Hello craft lovers, Christmas is over, but at home the celebration continues until the new year. As I like to receive visitors I decided to create a little house in case any elf or elf wants to stop by to visit me. The little house is made almost entirely with recycled materials except for the exterior decorations which I created with moldable foami, a material that I recently acquired and will soon be working with. Below, I show you the step by step of how I made it.

Como me gusta recibir visitas decidí crear una pequeña casita por si algún duende o elfo quiere pasar por aquí a visitarme. La casita esta hecha casi en su totalidad con materiales reciclados a excepción de los adornos exteriores los cuales los cree con foami moldeable, un material que reciente adquirí y próximamente estaré trabajando. A continuación, les muestro el paso a paso de como la realicé.

To start we take a bottle as a base, this will be the house as such. I preferred a plastic one because it is less dangerous, if you use a glass one you must be careful with the little ones at home that it does not fall to the ground and break. I marked the height I wanted for the house and cut it with the scissors.

Para comenzar tomamos una botella como base, esta será la casa como tal. Preferí una plástica porque es menos peligrosa, si utilizan una de cristal deben tener cuidado con los pequeños de casa que no caiga al suelo y se rompa. Marqué la altura que quería para la casa y la piqué con la tijera.

With a thick cardboard I marked the silhouette of the bottom of the bottle, leaving half a centimeter outward and made some lines forming almost a square that will be the part of the entrance. The measurements of the lines were 4.5 cm for the part of the staircase and 8 and 9 cm for the sides that will form the balcony.

Con un cartón grueso marqué la silueta de la parte inferior de la botella, dejándole medio cm hacia afuera y realicé unas líneas formando casi un cuadrado que será la parte de la entrada. Las medidas de las líneas fueron 4.5 cm para la parte de la escalera y 8 y 9 cm para los laterales que formarán el balcón.

To give texture to the walls I used tissues and with the help of liquid glue I glued small pieces until it was completely lined, then let it dry.

Para darle textura a las paredes utilicé pañuelos desechables y con ayuda del pegamento líquido fui pegando pequeños pedazos hasta que estuviera completamente forrada, luego dejar secar.

When it is dry, glue the bottle with silicone to fix it to the base.

To make the balcony, cut squares of 2 cm in height, and in width we will cut one of 2.5 cm, one of 9 cm and another of 7.5 cm. Mark the part of the ladder on this last one. Then glue with silicone all the sides.

Para elaborar el balcón picar cuadros de 2 cm de altura, y de ancho picaremos uno de 2.5 cm, uno de 9cm y otro de 7.5 cm. A este último marcar la parte de la escalera. Luego pegar con silicona todos los laterales.

To make the ladder, take a piece of cardboard and fold it into the shape of the ladder and glue it with silicone.

Para hacer la escalera tomar un pedazo de cartón e ir doblándolo dándole la forma de esta y pegar con silicona.

For the floor of the balcony I marked the silhouette of the entire upper part and cut it out and then glued it on top. Now we have the balcony ready.

Mark the silhouette of a door and cut it out, make some cuts that simulate boards, but in reality it is so that the cardboard can bend and have more flexibility, remember that the bottle is round. Then glue it.

In the same way we do with the window, we mark it, cut it out and glue some cardboard rectangles in the center to simulate the frame of the window panes.

De igual forma hacemos con la ventana, la marcamos, recortamos y con unos rectángulos de cartón pegar en el centro para simular el marco de los cristales de la ventana.

Chop several rectangles of cardboard and cut out the top two ends. This would be the fence.

Picar varios rectángulos de cartón y recortar las dos puntas superiores. Esta sería la cerca.

To give a better finish to the fence, make some lines and glue them horizontally. This way it looks better.

Para darle mejor acabado a la cerca hacer unas líneas y pegarlas horizontalmente. Así se ve mejor verdad.

For the roof, I took the inside of the corrugated cardboard and chopped it up to simulate roof tiles. First I cut out some squares and glued them together, giving them a little space, because since the bottle was round, it was difficult to put it in one piece. Then I cut out pieces in the shape of a triangle to cover the empty spaces. I put a second layer on top to make it look more like the tiles that are on top of each other.

Para el techo tomar la parte interior de los cartones que son corrugados y picar, estas simulan tejas. Primero recorté unos cuadrados y los fui pegando dándole un pequeño espacio, porque al ser redonda la botella se me dificultaba ponerla en una sola pieza. Ya después recorté pedazos en forma de triángulo para tapar los espacios vacíos. Le puse una segunda capa en la parte de arriba para que quedara más como las tejas que son unas encima de otras.

I painted all the walls and the balcony part white. Let dry.

Pinté de color blanco todas las paredes y la parte del balcón. Dejar secar.

To paint the ceiling and fence, I didn't have carmelite paint so I mixed red with black to give me a brown color.

Para pintar el techo y la cerca, no tenía pintura carmelita por lo que mezclé rojo con negro para que me diera un color marrón.

As I had some brown paint left over, I added a little more red to make it a brick color and with the help of the brush I drew small bricks on the upper part to make it look like a chimney and on the floor of the balcony. On the wall I gave some almost dry brushstrokes of light green to simulate the humidity of the walls.

Como me sobró pintura de color marrón, le agregué un poco más de rojo para que me quedara color ladrillo y con ayuda del pincel fui dibujando pequeños ladrillos en la parte superior para que pareciera como una chimenea y en la parte del piso del balcón. En la pared di unas pinceladas casi secas de color verde claro para simular la humedad de las paredes.

To give the final finishing touches I used the ocher colored foami to make the door and window frames. I glued with silicone because the foami does not adhere to the paper. I drew some stripes to make it look like wood.

Para dar los acabados finales utilicé el foami de color ocre para hacer los marcos de la puerta y la ventana. Pegué con silicona porque el foami no se adhiere al papel. Dibujé unas rayas para que pareciera madera.

With green foami I made several strips to make vines on the walls and a few leaves. The leaves are easier to glue because foami with foami sticks by itself.

Con foami color verde hice varias tiras para hacer como unas enredaderas en las paredes y unas cuantas hojas. Ya las hojas es más fácil pegarlas porque foami con foami se pega solo.

For the flowers I used yellow, red and pink moldable foami. I placed them on the vines and on the top of the roof.

Para as flores utilicé foami moldeable color amarillo, rojo y rosa. Las ubiqué en las enredaderas y en la parte superior del techo.

For the balcony railings I used sucking sticks or patetas and I was chopping taking the relevant measures and glue with silicone.

Para las barandas del balcón utilicé palitos de chupa chupa o patetas y fui picando tomando las medidas pertinentes y pegar con silicona.

Finally, I wanted to make a flower pot to make the balcony look more comfortable. For this I used a toothpaste knob lid and with foami I molded the leaves and roses. If you notice I did a shading, just mix the colors and that's it.

Por último, quise hacer una maceta para que el balcón se viera más confortable. Para esto utilicé una tapa de pomo de pasta de dientes y con foami moldeé las hojas y rosas. Si se fijan hice una matizada, solo se mezclan los colores y ya.
