Good afternoon, friends! I hope you're having a wonderful week. I'm happy to stop by and share a lovely idea with you. This time, I'm sharing the step-by-step instructions for making a cute Christmas tree ornament. This year I wanted to make a new nativity scene for the bottom of the tree, since I wasn't thrilled with the one I made last year. But while I was brainstorming, I thought it would look nice as a small ornament for my tree.

🌟 PROCEDIMIENTO | 🌟 PROCESS
✨PASO 1:
Lo primero, como siempre, es dibujar en una hoja blanca la idea que tenemos en mente hasta que demos con el diseño deseado. Al tener el diseño listo, que en este caso quise comenzar con María, José y el niño Jesús, y al estar listos, los transferí a los colores correspondientes de foami, como explico a continuación:
María y José:
✨Cabezas: 2.3 cm x 2 cm en foami crema.
✨Cuerpos: 2.3 cm x 1 cm y 2.3 cm x 1.5 cm en foami crema.
✨Manos: 0.8 mm x 0.5 mm en foami crema.
✨Cabello de María: 3.5 cm x 3 cm en foami marrón
✨Cabello y barba de José: 3 cm x 2.7 cm en foami marrón.
✨Túnicas: 2.5 cm x 1.7 cm en foami blanco.
✨Parte superior de la túnica: 2 cm x 0.6 mm en foami rosa y foami azul.
✨Velo: 4 cm x 3.5 cm en foami blanco.
Niño Jesús:
✨Cabeza: 2 cm x 1.5 cm en foami crema.
✨Manos: 0.7 mm x 0.5 mm en foami crema.
✨Paja: 2 cm x 3.5 cm en foami amarillo.
✨Cajón: 2 cm x 2.8 cm en foami marrón.
✨STEP 1:
The first step, as always, is to sketch your idea on a white sheet of paper until you arrive at the desired design. Once the design was ready—in this case, I wanted to start with Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus—and they were finished, I transferred them to the corresponding colors of foam, as explained below:
Mary and Joseph:
✨Heads: 2.3 cm x 2 cm in cream foam.
✨Bodies: 2.3 cm x 1 cm and 2.3 cm x 1.5 cm in cream foam.
✨Hands: 0.8 mm x 0.5 mm in cream foam.
✨Mary's hair: 3.5 cm x 3 cm in brown foam.
✨Joseph's hair and beard: 3 cm x 2.7 cm in brown foam.
✨Tunics: 2.5 cm x 1.7 cm in white foam.
✨Upper part of the tunic: 2 cm x 0.6 mm in pink and blue foam.
✨Veil: 4 cm x 3.5 cm in white foam.
Baby Jesus:
✨Head: 2 cm x 1.5 cm cream-colored foam.
✨Hands: 0.7 mm x 0.5 mm cream-colored foam.
✨Straw: 2 cm x 3.5 cm yellow foam.
✨Box: 2 cm x 2.8 cm brown foam.

✨PASO 2:
Al tener todas las piezas recortadas y listas, es momento de dar color a los bordes, con pinturas o marcadores, utilizando un color más oscuro o fuerte que el de cada una de las piezas, excepto en el caso del velo, que quise utilizar un tono de marcador rosa para que hiciera juego con la vestimenta.
✨STEP 2:
Once all the pieces are cut out and ready, it's time to color the edges with paints or markers, using a darker or stronger color than each piece, except for the veil, where I used a pink marker to match the clothing.
✨PASO 3:
Luego, al estar secas las piezas, es momento de dibujar detalles más específicos como ojos, cejas, bocas, cabello, nariz y parte de la decoración. Al estar listas las piezas, es momento de pegar, hasta formar a María, José y al niño Jesús en su cajoncito.
✨STEP 3:
Then, once the pieces are dry, it's time to draw more specific details such as eyes, eyebrows, mouths, hair, nose, and some of the decorations. When the pieces are ready, it's time to glue them together to form Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus in his little box.

✨PASO 4:
Ya casi para finalizar, toca hacer la parte trasera, que en este caso es la idea de un establo. Así que recorté el fondo de 8 cm x 7.5 cm en foami marrón oscuro y el techo de 10.5 cm x 1.5 cm en foami marrón claro. Es momento de dar color a los bordes y diseño de madera con marcador. Pegué hasta formar el establo, a los personajes en el centro, una estrella centrada en la parte superior y, por supuesto, la cinta en la parte superior trasera para poder colgar. Además de algunos puntos de luz con pintura blanca y rubor en las mejillas.
✨STEP 4:
Almost finished! Now it's time to make the back, which in this case is a stable. So I cut the background out of dark brown foam (8 cm x 7.5 cm) and the roof out of light brown foam (10.5 cm x 1.5 cm). Next, I colored the edges and wood grain design with a marker. I glued everything together to form the stable, adding the characters in the center, a star centered at the top, and, of course, the ribbon at the top back for hanging. I also added some highlights with white paint and blush on the cheeks.
