Hello friends of HiveDIY I'm Nitsu and a week ago I was asked for a Harry Potter mates, lately I managed to sell several mates and I'm very happy to have had success with them plus I have fun painting them.
Hola amigos de HiveDIY soy Nitsu y hace una semana me pidieron un mate de Harry Potter, últimamente logre vender varios mates y estoy muy contento por hacer tenido éxito con ellos además que me divierto pintándolo.
En el último mate de Harry Potter me había costado pintar el rostro y los anteojos ya que al estar unidos necesitaba tener muy buen pulso y un pincel fino para pintar cada rincón adecuadamente, eso me sacaba mucho tiempo.
In the last Harry Potter matte I had had a hard time painting the face and the glasses, since they were joined together I needed to have a very good pulse and a fine brush to paint each corner properly, that took me a lot of time.
Uploading stories of my work to my Instagram account I commented this problem I had with the STL of the mate and a colleague with a 3D printing project told me that the same thing happened to him and decided to separate the body of the mate and the glasses. He kindly emailed me the files and I took this opportunity to test it.
Subiendo historias de mi trabajo a mi cuenta comercial de Instagram comente este problema que tenía con el STL del mate y un colega con un emprendimiento de impresión 3D me dijo que le pasaba lo mismo y decidido separar el cuerpo del mate y los anteojos. Muy amablemente me envió por mail los archivos y aproveche en esta oportunidad para probarlo.

I configured the matte to print, on one side, the main body with a layer height of 0.28 so that it does not take so long and a speed of 40mm/s, it will have taken about 10 hours or less of printing. Once I had this piece, I printed the glasses with black PLA, it took 20 minutes and I had everything to work with.
Configure el mate para imprimir, por un lado, el cuerpo principal con una altura de capa de 0.28 para que no tarde tanto tiempo y una velocidad de 40mm/s, habrá tardado unas 10 horas o menos de impresión. Una vez ya tenía esta pieza imprimir los anteojos con PLA negro, tardo 20 minutos y ya tenía todo para trabajar.
Once this stage was finished I took black acrylic and painted Harry's hair, waited for it to dry and painted the face in skin color and gave a little dark tone to the well known scar on the forehead. I didn't sand the glasses, but I gave them a coat of black acrylic.
Una vez terminada esta etapa tome acrílico negro y pinte el pelo de Harry, espere a que secara y pinte el rostro de color piel y le di una tonalidad un poco oscura a la conocida cicatriz de la frente. Los anteojos no los lije, pero si les di una capa de acrílico negro.
Finally, I glued the glasses to the main body, note the big difference when painting the mate with the separate pieces. I protected the paint with a spray lacquer so that it would last a long time and finally I glued the black polymer inside the mate, I bought this polymer separately; it allows to place the yerba mate and the hot water without the rest of the mate getting softer due to the heat of the water.
Por último, pegue los anteojos al cuerpo principal, note la gran diferencia a la hora de pintar el mate con las piezas separadas. Protegí la pintura con una laca en aerosol para que durara mucho tiempo y por último pegue el polímero negro dentro del mate, este polímero lo compre aparte; permite colocar la yerba mate y el agua caliente sin que el resto del mate se ablande por el calor del agua.

I have more orders to deliver, but I am out of black polymer, so I have to restock materials to continue production.
Tengo más pedidos que entregar, pero me quede sin el polímero negro, así que tengo que reponer stock de materiales para seguir produciendo.
