Estos individuales a crochet nacieron de una idea muy sencilla. Mientras tejía, muchas veces me llevaba una taza o algo para comer a mi escritorio, y sentí la necesidad de tener algo propio para apoyar la taza y el plato.

Los individuales que hice, tanto para la taza como para el plato, son iguales entre sí y tienen un diseño simple. Están tejidos con puntos básicos, sin detalles recargados ni complicaciones. Me gusta que las cosas sean prácticas, funcionales y fáciles de usar en el día a día.

Tejer siempre va acompañado de ideas, pero en este caso quise mantener todo lo más simple posible. Algo que sirviera para la casa, para el escritorio o para una pausa tranquila, sin pretensiones.

Estos individuales están pensados para el uso diario, para acompañar momentos cotidianos como tomar un café o comer algo pequeño. Son piezas sencillas, hechas a mano con calma, pensadas para durar y para usarse, tal como me gusta hacer las cosas.

These crochet placemats were born from a very simple idea. While I was crocheting, I often found myself bringing a cup or something to eat to my desk, and I felt the need to have something of my own to place the cup and the plate on.

The placemats I made, both for the cup and the plate, are the same and have a simple design. They are crocheted using basic stitches, without overloaded details or complications. I like things to be practical, functional, and easy to use in everyday life.

Crocheting is always accompanied by ideas, but in this case I wanted to keep everything as simple as possible. Something that could be used at home, on a desk, or during a quiet break, without pretensions.

These placemats are designed for daily use, to accompany everyday moments like having a coffee or eating a small snack. They are simple pieces, handmade with calm and care, made to last and to be used—just the way I like to make things.

• Hilos de algodón verde y amarillo
• crochet 4 mm

Elaboración / Elaboration

Comencé el tejido haciendo un anillo mágico con 12 puntos altos. Cerré la vuelta con punto deslizado y levanté 2 cadenas para comenzar la siguiente vuelta.

Desde este punto, cada vuelta se cierra con punto deslizado y se inicia levantando 2 cadenas.

Vuelta 2:
Realicé aumentos en todos los puntos (2 puntos altos en cada punto).
Total: 24 puntos altos.

Vuelta 3:
Secuencia de 1 punto alto y 1 aumento en toda la vuelta.
Total: 36 puntos altos.

Vuelta 4:
Secuencia de 2 puntos altos y 1 aumento.

Total: 84 puntos altos

Con estas siete vueltas se obtiene el tamaño del individual para el plato.
Para el individual de la taza, se tejen menos vueltas siguiendo la mismo patrón pero, ajustando el tamaño que se deseé.

I began the piece by making a magic ring with 12 double crochet stitches. I closed the round with a slip stitch and chained 2 to start the next round.

From this point on, each round is closed with a slip stitch and begins with 2 chain stitches.

Round 2:
I worked increases in every stitch (2 double crochet in each stitch).
Total: 24 double crochet stitches.

Dejé de lado el color amarillo y continué tejiendo con el color verde.

Vuelta 1 (punto calado):
Levanté 3 cadenas, me salté 3 puntos y realicé 1 punto bajo. Luego repetí la secuencia de 3 cadenas, saltar 3 puntos y 1 punto bajo durante toda la vuelta. Al finalizar, cerré con punto deslizado.

Vuelta 2:
Levanté nuevamente 3 cadenas y repetí la misma secuencia de la vuelta anterior, trabajando dentro de los espacios grandes (arcos) que se formaron. Es decir, 3 cadenas y 1 punto bajo dentro de cada arco, repitiendo hasta terminar la vuelta. Cerré con punto deslizado.

Vuelta 3:
Realicé exactamente lo mismo que en la vuelta anterior, trabajando nuevamente dentro de los arcos, repitiendo la secuencia hasta completar la vuelta y cerrando con punto deslizado.

Para el borde, retomé el color amarillo.

Levanté 3 cadenas y, en el primer arco, trabajé 10 puntos altos dentro del mismo espacio. En el siguiente arco realicé 1 punto bajo. Luego, en el arco siguiente volví a hacer 10 puntos altos y en el siguiente 1 punto bajo.

Repetí esta secuencia durante toda la vuelta, alternando un arco con 10 puntos altos y el siguiente con 1 punto bajo, hasta completar todo el borde.

I set aside the yellow color and continued crocheting with the green yarn.

Round 1 (openwork stitch):
I chained 3, skipped 3 stitches, and made 1 single crochet. Then I repeated the sequence of chaining 3, skipping 3 stitches, and making 1 single crochet all around. At the end of the round, I closed with a slip stitch.

Round 2:
I chained 3 again and repeated the same sequence as the previous round, working into the large spaces (arches) that were formed. That is, chain 3 and make 1 single crochet into each arch, repeating until the end of the round. I closed with a slip stitch.

Round 3:
I did exactly the same as in the previous round, working again into the arches, repeating the sequence until the round was complete, and closing with a slip stitch.

For the border, I switched back to the yellow color.

I chained 3 and, in the first arch, worked 10 double crochet stitches into the same space. In the next arch, I made 1 single crochet. Then, in the following arch, I worked 10 double crochet stitches, and in the next one, 1 single crochet.

I repeated this sequence all the way around, alternating one arch with 10 double crochet stitches and the next with 1 single crochet, until the entire border was complete.
