Restoring the old Sculpture (Antique)

in Hive Diy3 months ago
Hello, my beloved readers! Have a great day. It's me again, hyundais. How's your day? Hope you're doing well. Today, I would like to share how I restored the old sculpture carving. To be honest, this is my first time restoring a sculpture, and I don't have any experience with it, but I am confident that I can restore it properly.

I got something from my grandmother that is no longer being taken care of, an antique sculpture carving. I have decided to restore the sculpture. First, I will clean it with water and a brush to see if the sculpture have damaged. Then, I will use emery paper to scrub the whole sculpture.

After a minute, I saw a little damage on its face and body, I thought I could just cover it with a little design but it will make more untidy. So, I scrubbed the whole face of the sculpture first, using the emery paper in the area of damage. I scrubbed slowly because I might make the damage worse.

As you can see on the picture above, you can see the improvement of our sculpture. I was impressed When I found a way to fix the damage on its face. Scrubbing it until the damage area disappeared and leveling it to the size of it's left cheeks, and scrubbing the parts of the face was exhausting as I need to do it slowly and surely.

After the long scrubbing, the damage was nearly unnoticeable. So, my next step was to add a life to this old sculpture by adding some light color.

I painted the hair of the sculpture using varnish and a brush. This is the only color I used because there was nothing else to use and to avoid further expenses. I used a brush to prevent the sculpture from becoming too shiny when the varnish dries.

So, this was the result of my hard work. It was indeed worth the tiredness as I look into this once again beautiful art. I added a stand to make it more noticeable.

That's all for today, I hope you enjoy reading this blog of mine. Thank you for your time and unending supports on my blogs, Your supports are greatly appreciated. God bless you all, See you in my next blog💗

Wow!!! It looks awesome after applying some retouch. You really have great skills when it comes to this. Keep it up!

It does look awesome ma'am, thankyou for dropping by💗

It looks even better now after that cleaning and a retouch, it sad that it has damage though.

If I further scrub the damages the outcome will be worst I think so I just do it with some retouch just to make the damage less noticeable. Thankyou for dropping by💗
