Pikachu Riding a Bicycle Carved Wood Sculpture - Pikachu Manejando Bicicleta Escultura tallada en Madera [ENG-ESP]

Hello dear friends, I hope you are all well, before presenting my publication, I first want to thank this beautiful HiveDiy community and its committed curators with supporting and encouraging quality content through the creativity of users, and I greatly appreciate Having been named the author of the week is a great source of pride for me, however I think that this achievement is the work of everyone, each of us puts not only our creativity but also our support to the community, which is why I consider that the achievement of a user is an achievement of all, so behind what I can publish there are also people who support me and inspire me a lot. This is how I share with you this new publication at this very important moment for me, I have made a small sculpture of the most famous Pokémon of all, it is Pikachu driving a bicycle, I have made this sculpture as part of a personalized commission, it is the second one I have done so far and I want to share with you step by step how I did it, I hope you like it.

Hola queridos amigos, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien, antes de presentar mi publicación, quiero agradecer primeramente a esta hermosa comunidad HiveDiy y a sus comprometidos curadores con apoyar e incentivar el contenido de calidad a través de la creatividad de los usuarios, y agradezco enormemente el haber sido nombrado como el autor de la semana, es un gran orgullo para mi, sin embargo ese logro pienso que es obra de todos, cada uno de nosotros pone no solo su creatividad sino también su apoyo a la comunidad, por lo que considero que el logro de un usuario es un logro de todos, así que detrás de lo que puedo publicar también están personas que me apoyan y me inspiran muchísimo. Es así como comparto con ustedes esta nueva publicación en este momento tan importante para mi, he realizado una pequeña escultura del Pokemón más famoso de todos, se trata de Pikachu manejando una bicicleta, esta escultura la he realizado como parte de un encargo personalizado, es el segundo que realizo hasta ahora y deseo compartir con ustedes paso a paso como lo hice, espero les agrade.

PROCESS

On this occasion I had to work with a piece of high-density wood, that is, when I cut it it felt very hard, it seemed to be made of concrete, the good thing is that I have a new set of tools especially for carving wood, however At the beginning there were points of difficulty. I drew Pikachu like this in profile and I cut the empty spaces with a saw to save time and effort.

En esta oportunidad me tocó trabajar con un trozo de madera de alta densidad, es decir, al momento de cortarla se sentía muy dura, parecía hecha de concreto, lo bueno es que cuento con un nuevo set de herramientas especialmente para tallar madera, sin embargo al inicio hubo puntos de dificultas. Hice le dibujo de Pikachu así de perfil y los espacios vacíos los corté con una sierra para ahorrar tiempo y esfuerzo.

After having the drawing made on the wood, I began to cut the wood from the edges. I started with the ferfil drawn using the circular gouges. These extract the wood quickly while allowing it to give a rounded shape, as I had started with the part of the hull that is wearing, I was interested in leaving that part rounded from the beginning, the rest was going down the line and extracting wood with the thinnest and sharpest gouges, here you could also see the shape of the bicycle.

Luego de tener el dibujo realizado en la madera comence a cortar la madera de los bordes, comencé por el ferfil dibujado utilizando las gubias circulares, estas extraen la madera rápido mientras que permiten dar una forma redondeada, como había comenzado por la parte del casco que lleva puesto, me interesaba dejar esa parte redondeada desde el principio, el resto fue ir bajando por el trazo y extrayendo madera con las gubieras mas finas y afiladas, aquí ya se podía ver también la forma de la bicicleta.

After cutting the entire drawn profile, I begin to shape it in some parts, especially the helmet, which is round and covers a large part. So little by little I cut the wood until the surface looks like a circle. In the same way, I carry out the same process so that the shape of the bicycle can be appreciated, as well as the tail.

Luego de cortar todo el perfil dibujado, comienzo a darle forma en algunas partes, especialmente al casco, el cual es redonode y abarca una gran parte. Asi que poco a poco voy cortando la madera hasta dejar la superficie como un círculo. De igual forma realizo el mismo proceso para que la forma de la bicicleta pueda ser apreciada, así también la cola.

As for the carving, I did the last details such as sharpening the ears, making the outstanding shapes of the helmet and also the tubes that make up the bicycle. After that, I spent a while sanding the entire piece until the surface was very smooth and soft. Next I added several baths of sealing varnish and continued sanding, after that I applied another layer of varnish and finally I placed a small piece of wood to serve as a base for the sculpture.

En cuanto el tallado hice los últimos detalles como afilando sus orejas, haciendo las formas sobresalientes del casco y también los tubos que conforman la bicicleta, despues de eso estuve un rato lijando toda la pieza hasta dejar la superficie muy lisa y suave. Seguidamente agregué varios baños de barníz sellador y seguí lijando, luego de eso apliqué otra capa de barniz y por último coloqué una pequeña pieza de madera que sirva como base para la escultura.

After the figure was ready I began to point each of its parts, starting with the helmet, then I painted the bicycle and finally the body. I tried to make all the parts very detailed respecting the essence of the character, as you can see his eyes and the entire part of the face, lastly I painted his ears and that's how it was finished.

Luego de que la figura estuviera lista comencé a pointar cada una de sus partes, comenzando por el casco, luego pinté la bicicleta y por último el cuerpo. Trate de hacer todas las partes muy detalladas respetando la esencia del personaje, como pueden observar sus ojos y toda la parte del rostro, por último pinté sus orejas y así quedó finalizado.

FINAL WORK

This is how this sculpture of Pikachu riding a bicycle was finished, I think he is making a home delivery, hehehe. I really liked the result, although I don't like painting wooden figures, in this case since it is a personalized order I had to do it and it turned out very well. The only drawback I think was the wood, its high density was not what I expected but thanks to having the necessary tools I was able to do it very well. Así quedó finalizada esta escultura de Pikachu manejando bicicleta, creo que esta haciendo una entrega a domicilio, jejeje. Me gustó mucho el resultado, aunque no me gusta pintar las figuras de madera, en este caso como es un encargo personalizado tuve que hacerlo y quedó muy bien. El único inconveniente creo que fue la madera, su alta densidad no era lo que esperaba pero gracias a que contaba con las herramientas necesarias pude hacerlo muy bien. Espero que les haya gustado el resultado, estoy muy agradecidos con todos por siempre mostrar su apoyo, me despido y espero volver por aquí muy pronto.
