Hola mis queridos Hivers, les cuento que ya ha llegado en pleno el frío por estos lados y he sacado del armario las cobijas para poder abrigarnos mejor. En esta época del año siempre usamos las cobijas de lana ya que abrigan más, pero hay una de ellas que el borde estaba muy deteriorado así que decidí que ésta era una buena ocasión para restaurarla y darle una segunda oportunidad.
Hello dear Hivers, I tell you that the cold weather has arrived in these parts, and I have already taken out of the closet the blankets to keep us warmer. At this time of the year, we always use wool blankets because they are warmer, but there is one of them that the edge already deteriorated, so I decided that this was a good opportunity to restore it and give it a second chance.

Esta es una cobija abriga mucho y me encantan sus colores, sin embargo su borde estaba hecho con tela satinada y con las constantes lavadas ésta se desagastó bastante y casi no la usábamos en casa, así que me fui a una tienda de manualidades y elegí una bonita lana que me ayudara a hacerle un borde a esta cobija y darle una nueva cara.

This is a very warm blanket and I love its colors. However, its border was made with satin fabric, and with the constant washing it was very worn out, and we hardly used it at home, so I went to a craft store and chose nice wool to help me to make a border for this blanket and give it a new face.
Lo bueno de las cobijas de lana es que su tela es fácil para las agujas por eso usé una aguja de punta roma especial para este material así mi reparación quedaría prolija.
The good thing about wool blankets is that their fabric is easy for needles, so I used a special blunt needle for this material so my repair would be neat.
Lo primero que hice fue retirar con ayuda de un exacto todo el borde desgastado y luego comencé a realizar unas puntadas con la lana de colores alrededor de los bordes de mi cobija.
Al principio pensé que reparar mi cobija me llevaría varios días pero mientras veía muchas películas la terminé en solo un día, creo que batí record...bueno en realidad estaba inspirada porque tengo mucha ilusión de verla en mi cama.
The first thing I did was remove with the help of an exact blade all the worn edges, and then I started to make some stitches with the colored wool around the edges of my blanket.
At first, I thought that repairing my blanket would take me several days, but while I saw many movies, I finished it in just one day, I think I broke the record...well actually I was inspired because I am looking forward to seeing it on my bed.
Yo empecé por la parte inferior del borde haciendo una puntada y luego llevo la aguja hasta la parte superior tratando que la lana forme un borde firme para evitar que la cobija se deshilache. El secreto es tensar bien la lana pero sin apretar muy fuerte ya que el borde quedaría encarrujado y no liso.
I started at the bottom of the edge making a stitch, and then I took the needle to the top, trying to make the wool form a firm edge to prevent the blanket from fraying. The secret is to tighten the wool well, but without pressing too hard because the edge would be curled and not smooth.
¡Miren el resultado! estoy encantada de cómo lucen los colores de la lana en el borde de la cobija, sé que ahora le queda un poco más de vida útil gracias a esta reparación, así que ya hay otra cobija disponible para este invierno tan fuerte.
Look at the result! I am delighted with how the colors of the wool look on the edge of the blanket. I know it has a little more life left thanks to this repair. So now there is another blanket available for this strong winter.
Cuando compré la lana pensé que la gastaría toda, pero aún quedó una buena cantidad así que veré que utilidad le puedo dar, apenas realice una manualidad con ella compartiré con ustedes los resultados.
When I bought the wool, I thought I would use it all up, but there is still a good amount left, so I will see what use I can give it, so as soon as I make a craft with it, I will share it with you.
