Increasingly, 16 Million People Have Been Infected with Corona on Earth

Since it was discovered in Wuhan, China last December, the number of people infected with the corona virus (Covid-19) has nearly surpassed 16 million cases as of this Saturday (7/25/2020). Where the exact number has reached 15,929,737 cases globally as of Saturday at 07:00 WIB, according to Worldometers .

Of the total cases, 641,837 people have died and 9,714,499 recovered. While the total active cases per day there are as many as 5,573,401 cases. Of that amount, 5,507,218 (99%) people were sick in mild conditions and 66,183 (1%) people were sick in serious or critical conditions.

Most cases of Covid-19 currently exist in the United States (US). The country, led by President Donald Trump, has reported 4,247,407 cases so far, with 148,450 deaths and 2,027,276 recovering.

As new cases in the US continue to increase rapidly, more than 150 health professionals release open letters to government officials in the country. The contents of the letter are urging the leaders to do the lockdown again.

"Tell the Americans the truth about the virus, even when it's difficult. Take bold action to save lives - even when it means to close it again," the letter said, pioneered by the nonprofit US Public Interest Research Group, reports USA Today. .

In the letter, health experts said the US was reopening too quickly and requiring non-essential businesses to close again, asking people to stay at home, and urging government officials to invest more in testing, contact tracing, and increasing capacity personal protective equipment (PPE).
