Hello Guys... How are you today?
If any of you truly understand us, then I myself would say that you are a great person, and through myself, on behalf of our family, express my gratitude and for taking the time to research our behavior and family.
Did you know that, I am a grasshopper who is very famous among farmers, especially rice farmers who always cultivate rice every few months, if I'm not mistaken in the past few decades they planted rice 3 times a year. As I mentioned above, I am very well known among farmers, especially rice farmers, so I have several names that are familiar to the people of Aceh in particular and Indonesia in general. Some people say my name is, green grasshopper, some call it rice grasshopper. While in Latin scientists dub him as Oxya Serville.
Maybe you really understand it
The point is that my community and we are so famous, that we have several names or even a series of names that have been accepted both in verbal and non-verbal language.
You need to know, we are also referred to as leaf destroying insects or in human terms, especially rice farmers, we are labeled as pests or in other words as viruses that interfere with human society itself in their daily work in the fields.
We are famous with that bad name and predicate, we accept it well without any effort to reject it, then automatically accept it, so with that bad name we are also often attacked by scary chemicals, also exterminated with these chemicals as well. This hazardous material is sprayed with a certain tool. So thanks to the efforts of the farmers, it seems that our family has been crushed and died in their gardens. Our presence is not liked and even other predators such as pet ducks are also very fond of devouring our bodies with pleasure. We are also caught and used as human snacks and also given to their pet birds.
But our other relatives, who choose their nests in certain areas or in weed sites, which grow on their own without human intervention. Then he will be safe from the dangers of biological weapons or can be said to be safe from frightening attacks. So don't be surprised if our other brothers who choose locations in urban areas will also feel safe from this scary thing
Even though we were often evicted, as a result of our own actions, I chose to take a long trip that gained some security in another location, away from the hustle and bustle of the rice farming community.
Experts in the world have also clarified our situation in their historical records, especially me and this clarification is based on the results of their research as you will see below :
1 | Species | Oxya serville |
---|---|---|
2 | Genus | Oxya |
3 | Family | Acrididae |
4 | Ordo | Orthoptera |
5 | Class | Insecta |
6 | Phylum | Arthropoda |
7 | Kingdom | Animalia |

Although the world's experts have permanently clarified us, but there are also differences in the clarifications about us, but the differences are not too stark, the point is almost equal.
Now we are also in a densely populated urban area, here we are safe to establish ourselves, there is no eviction or mass spraying like in the rice fields as you have read in the paragraph above.
In this new area, we breed permanently and we are always there even though our predecessors have returned to the realm of death, here we only protect ourselves from predators belonging to poultry or also attacked by admin friends, and avoid ourselves from the hands ignorant human children who always catch and play us into a game.
The left leg also detached from the body, this was due to the nosy hands of a human child who caught me then tied me, and let me fly. Children are very happy when they see the grasshopper fly and then it is pulled back into its lap and this is what children consider as a game. When that happened, I continued to struggle to escape their surroundings, and ended up with painful wounds. However, keep the spirit to live even though my left leg has been severed.
Did you know that my long legs are always used as a means of overlapping or pressing when I want to jump, and the jump is able to lift my weight higher into the air, although it has wings to fly but is rarely used. I use these wings when traveling long distances, or when we are being hunted by other cruel predators.
Well... This is the fate of us flying insects, it doesn't just happen to our family, but also to other insect nations, which means that we insects often experience bad treatment for the survival of this life.
This article, inspired by the state of life of insects found in our area. And this story is also seen in several parts of animated children's films. Hopefully you like it.
