[ENG-ESP] DIY: WALL E ROBOT MADE RECYCLED COMPUTER PARTS

Hello friends of Hive, I hope you are very well and in good health. Today I want to show you my latest work. It is about the adorable robot Wall E, this robot was the protagonist of the movie that bears his name. For me it is a great film because being animated and directed to a child-age audience, it has a great message and is within the dystopian genre. Well, it shows us a world destroyed by human contamination. Only Wall E remains on earth doing the garbage-stacking job it was programmed for. I like this character and what he represents. In a way I look like Wall E, I don't talk much and I like to use the waste that no one else uses to create new things. Hope you like.

Hola amigos de Hive, espero que se encuentren muy bien y con mucha salud. Hoy quiero mostrarle mi ultimo trabajo. Se trata del adorable robot Wall E, este robot fue el protagonista de la película que lleva su nombre. Para mi es una película genial porque al ser animada y dirigida a un publico de edad infantil tiene un gran mensaje y se encuentra dentro del género distópico. Pues nos muestra un mundo destruido por la contaminación de los humanos. Solo queda en la tierra Wall E haciendo el trabajo de apilar basura para el que fue programado. Me gusta este personaje y lo que representa. En algo me parezco a Wall E, no hablo mucho y me gusta utilizar los desechos que ya nadie mas utiliza para crear cosas nuevas. Espero que les guste.

Process

For this work we will use the challenges of a PC motherboard and hard disk. We cut six squares of 5 cm each to make the body of Wall E, in order to join this material we will glue cardboard parts of the same size on the inside.

Para este trabajo utilizaremos los retos de una placa madre de PC y disco duro. Cortamos seis cuadros de 5 cm cada uno paa hacer el cuerpo de Wall E, para poder unir este material pegaremos en la parte interior partes de carton de la misma medida.

We join the squares in this way by the edges. We use super glue, let it dry for a few seconds and join the parts. We only left without placing the upper box that serves for the head of Wall E.

Unimos los cuadros de esta manera por los bordes. Usamos super pegamento dejamos secar unos segundos y unimos las partes. Solo dejamos sin colocar el cuadro superior que sirve para la cabeza de Wall E.

For the wheels we use chains. These chains were removed from some car parts that did not work. And for the gears I used the ones that an old-fashioned sound system has.

Para las ruedas utilizamos unas cadenas. Estas cadenas las saque de unos repuestos de carros que no servia. Y para los engranajes usé los que tiene un equipo de sonido de los antiguos.

We make the base of the wheels with a triangular piece of the motherboard, at the ends we open 3 holes and place the bearings with some screws. We make two bases for both parts of the robot.

La base de las ruedas las hacemos con un retazo triangular de la placa madre, en los extremos abrimos 3 agujeros y colocamos los rodamientos con unos tornillos. Hacemos dos bases para ambas partes del robot.

Then the next step is to place the chains on the bases that we did previously. We must cut the chain to a size that fits exactly on the bearings so that it does not deviate. Then when we have put both chains, we join the bases to the side parts of the robot's body, joining it with screws. We tighten very well so that it is fixed.

Despues el siguiente paso es colocar las cadenas en las bases que hicimos anteriormente. Debemos cortar la cadena de una medida que nos quede exactamente en los rodamientos para que no se desvíe. Luego cuando hayamos puesto ambas cadenas unimos las bases hacia las partes laterales del cuerpo del robot uniendola con tornillos. Apretamos muy bien para que quede fija.

Wall E's eyes resemble a dewdrop. It is what gives humanity to his character, they were created with the purpose of showing human feelings. To do it we use aluminum can, and we shape it. We cut two strips and border them with glue. Then we make the covers where the eyes will go. Wall E's head is shaped like a binocular.

Los ojos de Wall E se asemejan a una gota de rocío. Es lo que da humanidad a su personaje, fueron creados con el propósito de mostrar sentimientos humanos. Para hacerlo utilizamos lata de aluminio, y le damos forma. Cortamos dos tiras y las bordeamos con pegamento. Luego hacemos las cubiertas donde iran los ojos. La cabeza de Wall E tiene forma de binocular.

To make the eyes I used two small flashlight bulbs. Then I made two tubes of 4 cm long to insert it inside the previous piece. I fix the bulbs inside using glue and we get the cute look of Wall E.

Para hacer los ojos usé dos pequeños bombillos de linterna. Luego hice dos tubos de 4 cm de largo para introducirlo dentro de la pieza anterior. Fijo los bombillos por dentro utilizando pegamento y asi obtenemos la tierna mirada de Wall E.

To join the eyes of Wall E we use a strip of aluminum can and shape it into a ring and fix the tubes that contain the bulbs from the back. We add glue and let it dry until it is strong. Then we also make the neck with an aluminum can, we make two legs of 2 cm each and at the end we fix the entire head of Wall E in the box that goes in the upper part.

Para unir los ojos de Wall E usamos una tira de lata de aluminio y le damos forma de anillo y fijamos los tubos que contienen los bombillos por la parte trasera. Echamos pegamento y dejamos secar hasta que quede fuerte. Luego hacemos el cuello tamien con lata de aluminio hacemos dos pates de 2 cm cada una y al final fijamos toda la cabeza de Wall E en el cuadro que va en la pate superior.

Final Work

This is the final work. I had a lot of fun with this work, when I was seeing Wall E's eyes the truth is that it conveys a lot of feeling, it soon occurred to me to make his eyes light up to turn him into a small lamp, I hope to do it soon before I forget it hehe. Así ha quedado el trabajo final. Me diverti mucho con este trabajo, cuando estaba viendo los ojos de Wall E la verdad es que transmite mucho sentimiento, se pronto se me ocurrió hacer que sus ojos enciendan para convertirlo en una pequeña lámpara, espero hacerlo pronto antes de que lo olvide jeje.
