10 Days Down....20 Days To Go!

in NaPodPoMo3 years ago

A quick look at the calendar shows that 10 days = 1/3 of the way towards winning the National Podcast Post Month challenge. Has it been smooth sailing or have there been glitches along the way?

What are some of the challenges you've faced during #NaPodPoMo so far? What were your solutions? Or are you still working things out?

I realized that I've been posting these prompts and have yet to actually participate. So, here I go:

Challenges: Recording Late

I am now in the habit of waiting until 10:30pm to begin working on my show. It's a good time since everything else (work and home stuff) has already been done. I can sit down and focus on only writing, recording, editing, and posting the show.

It's been okay for the most part. Except I have posted almost all of my show with only minutes to spare before the clock strikes midnight. Yesterday I totally missed the mark and didn't post until around 12:30am. It doesn't actually matter when I post since the goal of the challenge is to have 30 episodes in 30 days. When I do those shows within November is entirely up to me. I will admit I was hoping to post one a day. When I record my show tonight, I will have two episodes released on November 11th. Again, not a big deal in the big picture of the overall challenge goals.

Smooth Sailing: It's Been Easier Than I Thought

Trying to divide out the big topic of content creation here on Hive has been easier and more difficult than I thought. Wait, did I just put two opposite things in the same sentence. Yep.

Easier in that I found my flow rather quickly. I did not know I was going to do a micro-podcast, yet that seems to fit the show perfectly. A little nugget of information and understanding of a concept, then I'm out. With each show (hopefully) building upon the other, my goal was to NOT overwhelm listeners. As I have a tendency to firehose people with information, this is a very different approach for me. So far, I like it.
