NUEVO PROYECTO- La importancia de hacer las cosas bien. [ES/EN]

Hola a todos :3 el día de hoy quiero compartirles esta lección que estoy intentando incorporar a la vida, no sé si decirle mantra o lección, o simplemente entre en una filosofía de mejorar como persona y parte de esa mejora impacta en mi trabajo, pero acá vamos.

Hello everyone :3 today I want to share with you this lesson that I am trying to incorporate into my life, I don't know whether to tell it a mantra or a lesson, or simply enter into a philosophy of improving as a person and part of that improvement has an impact on my work, but here we go.

La semana pasada me había puesto a reformar una falda que ya no me queda bien, mis caderas se agrandaron y mi cintura se encogió, así que me sobraba tela de un lado y me faltaba del otro, y como esta falda la usé para salir pocas veces me propuse reformarla.

Last week I had begun to reform a skirt that no longer fits me well, my hips grew and my waist shrank, so I had excess fabric on one side and I was missing on the other, and as this skirt I used it to go out a few times I proposed to reform it.

Mi primera idea fue adherir tela a los laterales y hacer una especie de pequeñas tablas, eran 3 tablas de cada lado, era un trabajo simple, cortar dos rectángulos, doblar las tablas, plancharlas y coserlas, luego las tablas a la prenda y fin del asunto.

My first idea was to adhere fabric to the sides and make a kind of small boards, there were 3 boards on each side, it was a simple job, cut two rectangles, fold the boards, iron them and sew them, then the boards to the garment and end of business.

La cuestión es que el resultado final no me gusto para nada, algo en esa combinación de tablas en ese sector se veía muy mal, no me gustaba como me quedaba la falda, pero si me gustaba el patrón y la falda en sí, entonces me senté frente a la computadora puse algo en Netflix para hacer ruido y comencé el arduo trabajo de descoser.

The point is that I didn't like the final result at all, something in that combination of boards in that sector looked very bad, I didn't like how the skirt fit me, but if I liked the pattern and the skirt itself, then I I sat in front of the computer put something on Netflix to make some noise and began the hard work of unpicking.

No soy nada fan de descoser prendas, en general corto las costuras y listo, salvo en algunos casos donde tener ese centímetro realmente valga la pena, a la mitad de descoser la impaciencia me gano y corte las costuras jajaja, juro que lo intenté.

I'm not a fan of unstitching garments, in general I cut the seams and that's it, except in some cases where having that centimeter is really worth it, halfway through unstitching I get impatient and cut the seams hahaha, I swear I tried.

Lo que conservé y descosí fueron las tablas ya que estaba trabajando con unos pequeños retazos sobrantes y no podía perder estas partes, más aún cuando debía hacer nuevamente la cintura.

What I kept and unstitched were the boards since I was working with some small leftover pieces and I couldn't lose these parts, even more so when I had to make the waist again.

Decidí acomodar el extra de tela en el trasero de la falda, como es una falda forrada, por comodidad esta era la mejor zona, si no hubiera sido así lo mejor era el frente, también como el patrón de mi tela son cuadros debía ser cuidadosa e intentar respetar eso en la medida que me fuera posible.

I decided to accommodate the extra fabric in the back of the skirt, as it is a lined skirt, for comfort this was the best area, if it had not been the case, the best would be the front, also as the pattern of my fabric is squares, I had to be careful and try to respect that as much as possible.

Con la tela extra lista me propuse a terminar y cosí el cierre y recorte nuevamente la cintura ya que la anterior no me gustaba, esto me costó porque tenía la impaciencia de terminar, pero respiré profundo y pensé en que era más importante que la prenda quedé bien.

With the extra fabric ready I decided to finish and I sewed the closure and cut the waist again since I did not like the previous one, this cost me because I was impatient to finish, but I took a deep breath and thought that it was more important that the garment remained good.

El armado de cintura es trabajoso, ya que la cintura en este modelo de falda está en 3 partes que hay que unir, y a su vez como es doble este proceso se hace dos veces, y se cose de una forma particular, primero se une la cintura desde la parte interna y luego la externa se pisa, esto hace que no se vean costuras desprolijas por ningún lado, queda muy bien.

The waist assembly is laborious, since the waist in this skirt model is in 3 parts that must be joined, and in turn, as it is double, this process is done twice, and it is sewn in a particular way, first the waist from the inside and then the outside is stepped on, this means that you don't see messy seams anywhere, it looks great.

En el proceso de coser la cintura algo fallo y lo cosí mal, por un momento pensé en dejarlo así, pero otra vez respire profundo y pensé en que es necesario hacer las cosas bien, que clase de diseñadora quiero ser si no entreno mi paciencia de descoser y dejo que mi ansiedad me maneje, así que descosí y lo hice bien.

In the process of sewing the waist something went wrong and I sewed it wrong, for a moment I thought of leaving it that way, but again I took a deep breath and thought that it is necessary to do things well, what kind of designer do I want to be if I don't train my patience unstitched and let my anxiety take over, so I unstitched and did it right.

Lo último para hacer era el ruedo y este fue fácil de hacer y quedo muy bien, estoy muy conforme con el resultado final, pero me costó un montón todo el proceso mental de hacerlo bien, es algo que intento cambiar, no apunto a que sea perfecto sino a que este bien.

The last thing to do was the ring and this was easy to do and it turned out very well, I am very satisfied with the final result, but it took me a lot of the mental process of doing it well, it is something that I am trying to change, I am not aiming for it to be perfect but to be well.
