Fairytale Magic

in NeedleWorkMonday4 years ago (edited)

Hello, dear, I greet you.
I would like to present to you my crown jewel, which I have chosen for a
Fashion event have manufactured. . .
The wings are made of movable wooden elements, combined with an old backpack for wearing comfort. I swapped the old backpack for invisible ones. To be able to move the flight elements, I attached them to the supporting element on the back with hinges and threaded invisible strings to each wing to let up or down.

I was able to get the feathers in cooperation with a zoo, which diligently collected the changing feathers of the peacocks and sent them to me. So in return, I took care of the bird section of this zoo.
That’s how I was able to realise this work.

The cocktail dress adorns a self-made brooch made of three feathers and falling pearl elements.
A softly flowing silk made of a yellow warp thread and a blue weft thread create this beautiful green tone, which shines a play of colours after light.
The dress can be modified or complemented with two additional manufactured elements. . .

  1. A removable border with small pearl necklaces can be buttoned on the inside.
  2. A detachable Organza train in two different shades of green that reaches to the ground.

In total I worked 50 hours on it and I was very happy that the construction survived the fashion event and worked fully. The audience was thrilled and it brought its desired glow to animate others to give expression to their fantasies.

Have a nice HIVE #NEEDELWORKMONDAY

Deutsch:

50 hours!!! Wow, thats a long time, but the work clearly payed out as the whole ensemble is beautiful. The idea to re-use a backpack for the wings is such an inventive idea. And although you used wood the construction looks light and fragile, like real wings. I hope you will treat us to some photos from the event where your beautiful dress will be worn.

And on this note I wish you a warm welcome to the needlewrokmonday community!
Every week needleworkers from around the globe get together to share our work, patterns, tips, ideas and shortcuts as we support one another. Our goal is to inspire the Hive blockchain to give crafting a try.

I have searched my other disk for the pictures and added them, the quality is unfortunately not very optimal. . . unfortunately it is not possible otherwise, because I cannot send the pictures from my old computers to my new ones.
Thank you very much, it was really nice to read.🤗
