Hello Hive

Let me start by screaming a happy New Year to the ears of my hivers and beloved family here. It has been a moment of happiness and gratitude to God for the past year. I was sincerely wishing that the year would come to an end with all its troubles and turbulence. We are grateful to witness the beginning of a new year, and I'm happy to be back in the community to make my very first blog for the year.

Left alone, I would have wished to write a long episode of gratitude to all my friends and acquaintances here; you all made 2024 worth it for me. For everyone who has been here for me through thick and thin, I am grateful to you all.

It's time to start all over again.

And most likely a more comprehensive Thanksgiving message, goals, and plans for the year will come in later.

For this morning I would like to talk about how I still had to spend my new year on the sewing machine again. I mean we are meant to at least close the chapter for one year before opening that of another year, but that didn't happen for me at all; it was all work, work, and work even into the new year.

My neighbor has had this fabric given to a tailor to help her make an outfit for her daughter, but aside from the exorbitant amount she has charged them, she still didn't get the dress ready for Christmas. She had lots of work to do and ended up disappointing a lot of people.

We retrieved the fabric from her since it wasn't ready for Christmas for this child to wear it. The little girl was disappointed, and we had to get her one of her old dresses to wear on Christmas Day.

Having gotten the fabric barely 48 hrs ago, I was obliged to get it ready for her to wear to church yesterday for the New Year Day celebration. The last day in December was a very busy one for me, and I only got to cut the cloth before going for the New Year's vigil.

The vigil lasted until dawn, and I was really tired upon reaching the house. I slept a little lazily and stood up to continue sewing the dress yesterday morning.

I was lucky that it got ready before church time, and the young lady was happy to have a new dress for church yesterday.

This was how I found myself sewing clothes even into the new year and
Having made the cloths, I head out to visit friends who were bereaved of their loved ones and got home late into the night. It's a pity that that family lost a loved one on New Year's Day, but we have to accept the loss manage to start the year on a good note.
