Hello Hive
Happy midweek to us all; I hope that you are enjoying the days as much as I do.
I have often heard that we can never go wrong in red, which is to say that whenever you have an outing to attend and it seems like you are unsure about what to wear, a red dress or outfit is the best pick for that moment, but to me, I feel more comfortable in black compared to red.
Lately I have been worried about having a boring wardrobe with no unique or appealing designs, and in deciding to change the status, I was determined to start trying out various means to light up my line of dresses. Being a seamstress, I didn't have to spend much to get this done, and sometimes scrap fabrics from making other customers clothes come in very useful and handy for me.
I was bent on practicing some design manipulations to create different lineups of dress designs. These manipulations can come in the form of dart manipulations.
For this I manipulated the neckline to create something special there, but it seems like I wasn't yet perfect with that manipulation, and the beautiful neckline didn't come out as obvious as I would have wanted it.
Though this didn't go entirely perfectly, it is a good point to how I can make it better next time. More so, I am enjoying this journey of learning, self-improvement, and skill improvement.
For the sleeves I had cut, I had a simple cap sleeve and gotten some tulle to sew on them.
For one of the sleeves I made gathers, and for the other sleeve I made pleats only to compare the difference; it's all part of the learning process, and if there are any differences with this process.
I can always learn to choose the better making process next time. Doing this will also improve both my skills and appearance.
Next, I also hoped that I could add a touch of some color to it; I started with the golden color bias, and this was the appearance I got.
Taking that off, I put on a white neck bead, and everything seems perfect. The dress is pretty, being all black, and the bead complimented it better than the bias; hence, a necklace of any color is preferable.
This is not too elegant neither is it too simple but a perfect choice for any important outing.
I bet that you can see the dazzling in her eyes 😄😀. Which celebrity do I look like here 🤣😁
I look like me, no need to say hahahah
