This is beautiful and a masterpiece in one piece, while we are still in the spirit of Christmas I can vividly tell you that I am yet to share with you all the creative Designs of Christmas outfits I have made for a whole lot of people.

Here is another of the beautiful dresses for my neighbors daughter. The challenges I went through sewing this dress is not one to mention, I believe that most of my sewing challenges comes from a not to sound knowledge of pattern drafting.

Drawing and sewing dresses using simple hand drafting doesn't give me issues buy when it comes to pattern drafting like this one you see here
I often find it difficult.

Learning fashion here comes with some difficulty as the bosses do not teach pattern drafting, unless you register with one millions of naira to learn pattern making in advance pattern school. The knowledge of pattern drafting helps people fo create new designs that have not existed before.

Having giving me the fabric and type of design she wanted I realized that it was one I have to fight my way through pattern drafting to give her the replication of the style design inspiration she has brought

I drafted a front block pattern here and draw out some dart linea that will give me the pleats on the dres.

Next I transferred the pattern unto the fabric and cut out the front block here

After that I did cut out the back block with the linings here. A simple basic back block with dart

Next I folded the fabric and cut out the 180° flair meant for the lower bodice to bother with it's lining in a diagonally folded manner here

It was time for stitching which I then use a facing of the upper plain white fabrics which I had cut out to turn the necklines of the front bodice.

I had to do a fitting for the outfit on the body form to see the outcome first before proceeding with what I was sewing

Next I proceed with stitching all the other part of the outfits joining the different parts.
The zipper and the sleeves were the last to be stitched and attached

The mixture of the plain and pattern fabrics have the dress a very attractive look.

The importance of pattern drafting in dress making cannot be overemphasized, I just hope that some day I would be able to access that knowledge and apply it to my sewing passion.
