New applique, a coconut for Carnival [ENG-ESP] Nuevo aplique, un coco para carnaval 🌱😜

Good afternoon friends of the needles. It's Monday and it's closer to the end than the beginning of the day. This officially working makes me less productive with manual things, but it won't stop me from doing them anyway. Little by little I've been embroidering a new applique and just a little while ago I finished it to show it here. I hope you like it, for me it's an added achievement to keep coming back in time to share my needlework, although last week I was absent, haha.

Buenas tardes amigas de las agujas. Es lunes y está más cerca del fin que del comienzo del día. Esto de trabajar oficialmente me vuelve menos productiva con las cosas manuales, pero no me frenará de hacerlas de todos modos. Poquito a poquito estuve bordando un nuevo aplique y hace un ratito nomas lo terminé para mostrarlo aquí. Espero que les guste, para mi es un logro añadido seguir llegando a tiempo para compartir mis trabajos con agujas, aunque la semana pasada me ausenté, jaja.

The truth is that I started designing many different appliques because I already had the idea to continue with the filling of my costume even if it was slower than planned. And as I have many different greens in sequins, I had to choose the ideal one for my little crazy coconut 😍 I always prefer to have too many ideas and discard them later, and not to make too few and then I'm missing them.

La verdad es que comencé diseñando muchos apliques distintos porque ya tenía la idea de continuar con el llenado de mi traje aunque fuera más despacio de lo planeado. Y como tengo muchos verdes distintos en lentejuelas, tuve que ponerme a elegir el ideal para mi pequeño coco loco 😍 Prefiero siempre tener ideas de más y descartarlas luego, y no hacer de menos para que luego me estén faltando.

This is a caricature of the cannabis indica flower, that's why it has eyes like disconfigured haha. As usual I started at the edges, and it wasn't as terrible as I thought all the curves would be, like little clouds. Still, I had a hard time figuring out how to do inside, the lighter color spaces and the arms. I gave myself to the adventure, I'm a realist. I let myself flow and explore each applique and each shape in a unique way. No two perform the same.

Se trata de una caricatura de la flor de cannabis indica, por eso tiene los ojos como desconfigurados jaja. Como siempre comencé por los bordes, y no fue tan terrible como pensé que serían todas las curvas, como nubecitas. Aún así, me costó pensar en cómo hacer adentro, los espacios en color más claro y los brazos. Me entregué a la aventura, soy realista. Me dejo fluir y explorar cada aplique y cada forma de una manera única. No hay dos que se realicen igual.

And when I say this I think that I am no longer very careful with some details. If it looks bad, I don't worry about it either, since I have so many projects, I'm sure that some of them won't come out in carnival, but I will try to make as many as I can and put as many as possible in the costume, I don't forget that we are many in the murga and some can always be given as a gift, right? To shine on the back of a colleague.

Y cuando digo esto pienso que ya no soy muy cuidadosa con algunos detalles. Si queda mal, tampoco me preocupa, teniendo tantos proyectos seguro alguno no vaya a salir en carnaval, pero intentaré hacer los máximos que pueda y poner en el traje la mayor cantidad posible, no me olvido tampoco que somos muchos en la murga y siempre alguno puede ser regalado, ¿no? Para brillar en la espalda de algún compañero o compañera.

Then I continued inside, already a little sloppy, as it is already a habit for me, very soon I made some silly things, for example in one eye, where I placed some beads in a straight way and then I noticed that they would go better if I did everything in curve. It doesn't matter from far away it won't be noticeable. All this in the framework of doing it in free time, mostly in the evenings.

Luego continué hacia adentro, ya de un modo un poco desprolijo, como es ya una costumbre para mi, muy pronto cometí algunas tonterías, por ejemplo en un ojo, donde coloqué algunas mostacillas de manera recta y luego note que irían mejor si hacía todo en curva. No importa desde lejos no se notará. Todo esto en el marco de hacerlo en ratos libres, por las noches en su mayoría.

Already advanced with the body and deciding not to do the feet, I did the filling that was missing, luckily there was not much left and I chose to start with the edges. Although it is not what I prefer in terms of colors, I really wanted to use the burgundy sequins, because they are new and I want to see how they look in a finished work.

Ya avanzada con el cuerpo y decidiendo no hacer los pies, hice el relleno que faltaba, por suerte no quedaba mucho y elegí comenzar con los bordes. Aunque no es lo que prefiero en cuanto a colores, tenía muchas ganas de usar las lentejuelas bordó, porque son nuevas y quiero ver como quedan en un trabajo terminado.

So I went on with the whole border, covering even the part where the feet would go, for some reason that I can't explain logically, I felt that they would be too loose and then it would be difficult to border them in the color I chose.

Así fui avanzando en la totalidad del borde, tapando incluso la parte donde irían los pies, por algún motivo que no puedo explicar con lógica, sentí que quedarían muy sueltos y luego se me haría difícil bordearlos en el color que elegí.

Having finished this and accepting the new mess, I show you the back, which is always more chaotic, before making the last cut and proceeding to leave it ready to start with a new one. This time the project is bigger, because I may have already told you about it, but I say it again. I am planning to make a shared or joint applique, and this requires repeating the same pattern several times so that different members of the murga share a design, and give it away, of course!

Terminado esto y aceptando la nueva desprolijidad, les muestro el dorso, que siempre es más caótico, antes de hacer el último recorte y proceder a dejarlo listo para comenzar con uno nuevo. Esta vez el proyecto es mayor, porque quizás ya les conté, pero lo digo nuevamente. Estoy planificando hacer un aplique compartido o en conjunto, y esto requiere repetir el mismo patrón varias veces para que distintos integrantes de la murga compartamos un diseño, y regalarlo, claro!
