Good morning friends of Needle Work Monday. A new start to the week for everyone, I hope you have been able to rest the weekend and are full of energy for a new Monday of needles 😃. For my part, I finally got my act together and sat down to sew some new lingerie. Is that after seeing several posts of other girls making their own underwear I felt like it again and I immediately got down to work ❤️.
Buen día amigos de Needle Work Monday. Un nuevo inicio de semana para todos, espero que hayan podido descansar el fin de semana y esten llenos de energía para un nuevo lunes de agujas 😃. Por mi parte, al fin me puse las pilas y me senté a coser algo de lencería nueva. Es que después de ver varios post de otras chicas haciendo su propia ropa interior me volvieron las ganas e inmediatamente puse manos a la obra ❤️.
It's been a while since I sewed lingerie, between trips and other simple repair projects I owed myself an afternoon researching a new pattern and another underwear design. This is how I came to this type of garment, a panty that we call here "culotte", in this case with a wide lace. I must say that this is the most lacy garment I have ever made, all the others are tiny as you have already seen 😅.
Hace rato que no cosía lencería, entre los viajes y otros proyectos de arreglos simples me debía una tarde investigando un molde nuevo y otro diseño de ropa interior. Así es como llegué a este tipo de prenda, una panty que acá le decimos "culotte", en este caso de puntilla ancha. Debo decir que esta es la prenda con más encaje que hice, todas las otras son diminutas como ya han visto 😅.
To make the mold I followed the instructions in this video. This pattern is really easy: we just need to know what the contour of our hip is and that's it. The width of the garment is defined by the width of the lace, so the wider the better. In this case I used my beautiful black and silver lace, which is 21 cm wide 😃.
Para hacer el molde seguí las instrucciones de este video. Este patrón es realmente fácil: solo necesitamos saber cuál es el contorno de nuestra cadera y ya. El ancho de la prenda está definido por el ancho de la puntilla, por lo que mientras más ancha sea mejor. En este caso usé mi precioso encaje negro y plateado, que tiene un ancho de 21 cm 😃.
This mold is made in a double sheet to have a complete pattern and then the back is differentiated from the front by making the first 2 cm longer than the second in the crotch area. Basically, this design is like a little lace shorts. When cutting the fabric, you have to cut first with the mold from the front and then from the back so that the fabric matches when sewing it joining the curves 😘.
Este molde se hace en hoja doble para tener un patrón completo y luego se diferencia el trasero del delantero haciendo el primero 2 cm más largo que el segundo en la zona de la entrepierna. Básicamente, este diseño es como un pequeño short de puntilla. Al momento de cortar la tela, hay que cortar primero con el molde de frente y luego del revés para que la tela coincida al momento de coserla uniéndo las curvas😘.
Once this is done, the panty is almost ready. Now it only remains to accommodate the curves forward and close the crotch part. Here we have to place a small rectangle of cotton fabric so that the union of the seams does not bother at the time of use 😃.
Una vez hecho esto, la panty ya está casi lista. Ahora solo queda acomodar las curvas hacia adelante y cerrar la parte de la entrepierna. Aquí tenemos que colocar un pequeño rectángulo de tela de algodón para que la unión de las costuras no moleste al momento del uso 😃.
To do this I faced the fabrics from the wrong side and on top the piece of reinforcement, also wrong side. Next, I turned the black fabric forward and sewed along the edges. In this way the joining seam is hidden and neater ❤️.
Para hacer esto enfrenté las telas desde el lado del revés y encima la pieza del refuerzo, también del revés. Después, voltié hacia adelante la tela negra y cosí en los bordes. De esta forma la costura de unión queda escondida y más prolija ❤️.
Lastly, I added a small bow. Ok, I know it's almost imperceptible because it's black but at least it will help me to differentiate which is the front of the panties 😅.
Por último, agregué un pequeño moño. Ok, ya sé que es casi imperceptible porque es negro pero por lo menos me va a servir a mí para diferenciar cuál es el frente de la bombacha 😅.
Y así amigos, nos queda terminado este proyecto ❤️.
Taking out the intervals in which I was distracted listening to music or watching TV, the total time to make this garment was less than an hour. When I sew I like to do it relaxed, I enjoy sewing so I want it to come out as well as possible. Every time I finish something I feel a kind of pride and these cute shorts made me feel that way ❤️. Hope ypu liked it 😀.
Sacando los intervalos en los que me distraje escuchando música o viendo la tele, el tiempo total de realización de esta prenda fue menos de una hora. Cuando coso me gusta hacerlo relajada, disfruto de la costura así que quiero que me salga lo mejor posible. Cada vez que termino algo siento una especie de orgullo y este culotte tan lindo me hizo sentir así ❤️. Espero que les haya gustado 😀.

A new design and such a wonderful one! I at first read your title and imagined something completely different: here culottes are very wide trousers which are nearly as wide as a skirt… but now I learned something new, that this is a type of underwear :-)

Siempre haces que parezca fácil confeccionar una prenda intima, pero no voy a caer en la trampa jajaj; por mi mamá sé que no es fácil coser encajes y elásticos. Las prendas de encaje son mis favoritas y hoy aprendí una palabra nueva para este tipo de panty, en Venezuela se le dice "Cachetero" aunque pensándolo bien "Culotte" es más congruente jejej.

Ya me amigué con las telas elásticas, solo hay que encontrarle el punto a la máquina para que no se retobe jajaja. Y cachetero, también leí ese nombre, me parece gracioso 😅.
