ENG/ESP A crochet bouquet for my friend Virginia. / Un ramo a crochet para mi amiga Virginia.

Virginia is special and believe me when I say special, it's because she really is. She is the kind of woman who doesn't skimp on giving affection, attention and love and anyone who might need something from her, just knocks on her door. I know she's not just like that with me, I've seen her up close because the last few weeks I've been much closer to her because I started working at her salon, and she's the same with everyone. Always willing to extend her hands to lend her shoulder and everything in her power to let others know God's love.

Virginia es especial y creanme cuando digo que especial, es porque verdaderamente lo es. Es la clase de mujer que no escatima en dar afecto, atención y amor y todo el que pueda necesitar algo de ella, basta solo con tocar su puerta. Se que no es así solo conmigo, la he visto de cerca porque las últimas semanas he estado mucho más cerca de ella debido a que empecé a trabajar en su salón de belleza, y es igual con todos. Siempre dispuesta a extender sus manos a prentar su hombro y todo lo que esté a su alcance para hacer conocer a los demás el amor de Dios.

I made a small bouquet with a doll and some flowers. I didn't do the whole body due to lack of time, because I focused mostly on the hair and it took me more time than I had estimated. The point is that Virginia has beautiful curly hair, which she is very proud of and shows it off beautifully. Sometimes she complains that it doesn't grow, but I think it does, it just doesn't show as much as it does with straight hair.

Yo por mi parte elaboré un pequeño ramo con una muñeca y algunas flores. No hice el cuerpo completo por falta de tiempo, debido a que me enfoqué mayormente en el cabello y me tomó más tiempo del que había estimado. El punto es que Virginia tiene un hermoso cabello rizado, del cual ella se siente muy orgullosa y lo luce de forma espléndida. A veces se queja de que no le crece, pero yo pienso que si, solo que no se nota tanto como en un cabello lacio.

I made the doll's head in the shape of a Funko because I really like this model, and it is more aesthetic in my opinion. First I marked with pins the outline of where the hair would be in order to follow the hairline. Then we tie a knot with the brown thread and start at the part of what could be called the nape of the neck. We pick up 12 chain stitches and attach it by means of a slipped stitch to the base of that same stitch where we started the chain.

Hice la cabeza de la muñeca con forma de Funko porque me gusta mucho este modelo, y es como más estético a mi parecer. Primero marqué con alfileres el contorno de dónde estaría el cabello para poder seguir una línea de nacimiento del cabello. Luego hacemos un nudo con el hilo color cafe y empezamos por la parte de lo que podría llamarse la nuca. Levantamos 12 puntos de cadena y lo fijamos mediante un punto deslizado a la base de esa mismo punto donde empezamos la cadena.

Nos pasamos al punto de al lado y repetimos el procedimiento. Así completamos la primera vuelta siguiendo la linea de alfileres. Cuando completamos la vuelta nos pasamos a la siguiente haciendo el mismo procedimiento pero en el punto de la siguiente hilera dejando una de promedio sin tejer. Repetimos hasta llegar al centro de la cabeza y habremos terminado de tener la hermosa melena rizada.

I attached a macramé lined high stick and some elongated leaves and finished the central flower which is none other than my beloved Virginia. I had some lavender flowers and carnations left over from my Easter bunny to complement the bouquet. A bow with fuchsia ribbon, one of my friend's favorite colors and that was it.

Le coloque un palillo de altura forrado con macramé y unas hojas alargadas y terminé la flor central que es nada menos que mi querida Virginia. Tenía algunas flores de lavanda y claveles que me sobraron de mi coneja de pascua para complementar el ramo. Un moño con cinta fucsia, uno de los colores favoritos de mi amiga y listo.

We drove over to her house to give her her beautiful bouquet. It was all very nice and we had an incredible time, Virginia was delighted and I was very happy for her. Greetings and many blessings to all.
