Greetings dear creative hivers, I hope we all had an amazing week, yay! Thank God it's Friday,
I'm having a fun Friday with the girls as we prepare for our friend's big day tomorrow, Neemah's traditional wedding, I've spent this week making her bridal train outfit for the traditional wedding, just five of us, even though it came at a very short notice, the bride to be never thought she would have a bridal train as she didn't plan any to have something big, just a lottle gathering in her father's sitting room, so she thought it won't be possible, but we are friends and decided to show our support, that no matter how low budget she wants the occasion of her big day, we would represent as it's expected of us to show our love and support.
Though good support, but everything came rushing from getting and deciding on the fabric, to choosing a style that suits everyone both physically and financially not excluding the gorgeous part, we all decided on this chic-looking dress, simple yet elegant with its dramatic sleeves, and as the designer in the group, the workload falls on me.
This is the smallest of all the sizes I made, and so I thought to share with you all the easy-making process of this off-the-shoulder plain and patterned straight dress with two-in-one dramatic sleeves, I hope you like it as well.
Materials used
- Ankara fabric
- Crepe fabric
- trimmings
- matching colored thread.
Cutting And Sewing Process
- I started by drafting the off-the-shoulder upper pattern of the dress, using a bustier pattern for the front.
- The back was drafted using a basic off-shoulder back pattern.
- Next, I joined front patterns together,
- Then sewed the trimmings on it, in my desired pattern.
- I also sewed in the back dart
- The base of the dress was made using a straight skirt pattern
- Here, I joined the upper to the lower part of the dress by the waistline for both the front and back.
- This is the drafted sleeve pattern, the upper side was gathered and sewed to the straight sleeve of the lower end, I also passed an elastic through the case above.
- Here I've joined one sleeve to one arm, also the front and back by the sides
And here is the beautiful final look, attaching the other sleeves also, the sleeves can be styled in two different ways.
We are all set and ready for Neemah's day tomorrow.
