Making my first sewing project

Hello Hive

It is my first post in the community and I am happy to be here. Since we are in the holiday session I want to make good use of my time to learn some skills and craft. I belong to the choreography group of my church and the last time we had a dance the girls were asked to make a head band for themselves. Since then I couldn't make one for myself I was not allowed to join the final presentation with the other girls.

For this holiday session I want to learn a number of things. And this is important for girls child and my sister will not always be around to help me with my sewing work all the time. She was sick during the choreography time and could not help me with the hand too. Now I have learnt that I am old enough to make some things for myself.

While still in school I have been learning how to use the crochet pins from my friends, even though we are still in high school alot of my friends already know how to make bags and hat with the crochet.

I started practicing and was making this mini bag already. Well I had been away from my blog ever since my sister helped me with a page here because of school activities. now I can learn a few things here since we are on holidays.

My sis taught me how to paddle a machine and making a straight stitch was a fun ride. I can't use an electrical sewing machine yet that will be a bit hard to do.

After making a lot of the straight stitch for some days she asked me if I can sew and start from making simple items like broch and hair bands. We got some fabrics from her stash bag which she had earlier use for an outfit

And cut out some rectangular pieces to make bows

By the time I will be resuming school, I will show my frien

ds what I have been up too and by then I will have been done with my bag and any other items I can do to show my friends.

This looks like a costume head cover even though I am learning how I can make it look better. This is my very first sewing task and other sewings will get better as I practice more.
