Hello my fellow needle workers, I hope you had a fun filled day. Before I forget, happy Mother’s Day. I posted about the order I got for the Ellie set and this is the last piece from that set and I am extremely happy to share this with you today.
These pieces took a lot of work and time and I’m happy they all turned out well.
I did tell the story behind how I got this design and how I got a multiple order just from posting that one. So today I’ll talk about how I got the name and other things surrounding the outfit.
So the name was random but not so random. For the first order I didn’t get the name of the client since it wasn’t a direct job so I paused naming the set for a while.
Stepped out one day and heard the name Ellie randomly and it just clocked I should name the set Ellie.
At some point I did get confused since the purple set was Ella had to come back here to see what I wrote and name it that.
When the client placed the order he was getting it for three women. I think it was for a beach carnival. He was specific with their skin tones so I don’t use a color that will contrast with their skin or make them look weird.
He pinned the message so I don’t forget where to use a light shade or dark shade.
The first one was urgent because she needed to go somewhere with it so when I finished I first sent it out for delivery and he said she was happy to get it and that it fit her perfectly.
Every dress maker knows the happiness that comes with this sentence. They just sent their measurements and I made the fits.
After a few days the second one was ready. I texted him and he said she was not in town and that I should finish up everything at once and send both at once since she wasn’t around to get it immediately.
When I was finished with all, I wrapped it up and gave him a call.
It was a bit hard to get a hold of hum and to an extent my rider got a bit frustrated because for a long amount of time he wasn’t picking up.
My rider called after hours saying that the guy hadn't picked up his call. I Had to find a way to reach him and when I did gladly he said he already called the rider so he’s on his way to him.
I delivered the packages and he texted saying he loved them and that I’ll be hearing from him soon. Hahahaha
Making this was as fun as it sounds and it tools says but it was worth every hour I put into it.
Things I used to make this set:
*4.0mm hook
*stitch markers
*darning needle
*scissors
Ps: these pictures belong to me and we’re taken with my mobile device.
That swimwear is smokin! I have challenges when it comes to fitting the wearablesbI crochet. That's why I rarely accept MTO's for wearables.
Ellie sounds like a really cool name for this swimwear. I'm sure your clients are very satisfied.
Yes they were. Thsnk you so much
Wow, I always think about your style, like how you always grab your brain on a beautiful style like this, this style really so magnetic, with beauty on it, I like it dear, well done
Thank you so much.
Amazing! I love them too. 😍 I remember doing some crochet swimwear before where I take my customer's measurements through online only. And yes, it is a great and nice feeling to receive the customer's feedback on the items we made for them, stating that they loved the wearables we sent and that they fit them well. I also love the color you choose for this design. Great job, @doreenarch. 😊
