I am so thrilled to have been able to knit my Mommy one of my precious "Oogieliboos," a special name that we gave to my scarves that I have knitted for the whole family.
So far, I have knitted individualized scarves for each person in my beautiful family:
@aimelidick
@merenludick
@matthew-williams
@zakludick
And of course, ME,
@clairemobey
It has been quite a journey and I would be lying if I said that there was no swearing involved π€£π€£π€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ, but after many MANY years, like decades, of not knitting, I decided to embark on this journey. With much encouragement and enthusiasm from my family, I thnk it made every one feel special to have a scarf knitted by hand, and by me for each one of them.
Meren's scarf was particularly difficult and I even phoned the school to ensure that it was ok with the uniform code - and this meant adding stripes at either end, all at different measurements! But it turned out beautifully.
Most of all, the scarves are soft and really do feel like hug. they are not itchy or uncomfortable in any way. Above all, my oogieliboos are special because they are to thin to be classed as shawls but are way to wide to be classed as scarves. I have even seen the kids use them as blankies when the fall asleep on the couch <3
My mom is back from the UK and when she arrived, it was still very weird weather, as winter didn't seem to want to leave, so I was wearing my Oogieliboo when I saw her, and she absolutely adored it!
It has taken me longer than I thought it would, probably because SO MUCH has happened in the last two months, but
I got a kick up the behind when I realized Christmas was around the corner, and it would make a perfect gift for her!
I am proud to present, Granny's Beautiful Oogieliboo!
Today is also super special because I get to look back and celebrate 21 posts of "Knot Another Knitting Tutorial!"
An ENOURMOUS thank you to those of you who have been following my knitting posts and for the love and support, and even very useful tips and tricks! My next project will be a quilt for our couch downstairs! Wish me luck!
