Thank you all once again for your encouragement and God bless you.

Today, i will be sharing with you this simple gown outfit i made for my sister in-law as a new year gift from grandma.

This fabric is actually not a recent fabric, it was a family outfit we bought for grandpa burial sometimes ago, but grandma own was kept in her box because she put on a different fabric on that day, after some times, she thought of what to do with the fabric then she decided to give it to my sister in-law who was not around as at tge Time we wore the fabric, grandma decided to give it to her so that she too can have from the family fabric.

As she was told, she told grandma to give it to me as i will be coming to her place this festive season, then i asked if i could help her sew it and she agreed, thinking of what to make, i decided to make this simple gown outfit design with matching color bias tape and a basic short sleeve

Join me as i take you through the cutting and sewing process

The fabric was 4yards, it was folded in two using the hip circumference measurements divide by 4 plus 2" ease and seam allowance, then i measured and narked out tge necessary bodice measurements and full length, all the vertical and horizontal measurements were connected together and cut out

The front bodice tgat i cut out first was placed on another folded fabric to cut out the back bodice with zipper allowance at the back and it was cut out

On the front fabric, i made a slanted line across the hip line down to the full length with 2" interval on both sides and on each line, i sew a bias tape to form a design on the fabric

On the the front neckline as well, i also used the same bias tape to make a design on it

I sew a zipper at the back bodice before it was sewn to the front bodice

For the sleeves, i cut out a basic sleeve and sew to the armhole circumference

Finally, i cut out two pockets and sew it on both sides of the gown, then the hem was folded in and this is the final outcome.

This outfit was taken along with me and delivered to my sister in-law as a gift from grandma for the new year. She was so glad to have the fabric and tge beautiful style made with it.

I hope you like the beautiful outcome as well.

Thanks so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post, do have a great and lovely new year celebration.
